I have to agree with Jim here. Why is this not in Flames & Shames? And ALlan, why do you refuse to act older than a potty-mouthed 4 year old? Lambos are great cars. So are Ferraris. Neither is better or worse. End of focking story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rob, maybe reinstall the spell checker as another button after preview? So that way those who want to not use it dont have to, but those who do can? |

copy your text into email or text editor and spell check there before pasting it back. everyone got annoyed with the spell checker I had here. do a search, someone had some software where you could spell check with a right mouse click. |

I think two things that all users (except Allan) can agree to... 1) Lamborghini's are great cars. At minimum you have to respect their styling and impact they've had on the automotive community over the years. Performance, quality, and the details are all subjective and very much of opinion. 2) Allan is an Ass Hole. We all know it and I'm pretty sure he knows it. I sleep well at night the way I live my life, I hope Allan does too. Whart's post was very good, I wish it would get posted over there.

Funny to listen to some of you speak out of your ass. The shift action on the Lambo is like a tractor? My wife finds the shifter in the Diablo far easier and comfortable than the Ferraris. To me, the Ferraris steering effort is TOO easy, clutch is fine, and the shifter is very reluctant. The Diablo has much better feel. Is the Ferrari easier to drive everday? Yes it is, but only due to its subdued "WOW" factor, not its driveability. As for not caring for a riced out Diablo, who the hell wants advice from a guy named "BJ" who drives a BMW 330, which was recently voted the number 1 choice automobile for homosexuals along with the VW Beetle?

Bret, oh yeah! I've owned two old 5.3L V12's and I can vouch for that. Great engines if maintained. If maintained.. $$$. Jaguar did make two very reliable cars. The late eighties Series 3 XJ6 and the '95-'97 XJ6. Rock solid. The two pinnacles and brightest spots in the XJ range, IMO. New Jags are crap just like the new MBs and their growing list of problems, or so its been said. They get something right, why oh why do they have to go and F it all up. |

Okay guys... I have just hired you as director of my new exotic car company (Lambo, Viper, pick one)... your job is to sell more units and make gains on Ferrari market share. Since Ferrari has the "it" factor, just like hollywood movie stars. Our cars are going to have to be faster, better priced, and do more then Ferrari to just break even. Allan is picking up on this point in a negative way. I just tried to write about this from a differnt point of view in a postive manner. |

Allen must have a small penis. Only somebody with a small cock would drive around in a Lambo(probably with the doors open like the Delorean guys) and then tell everyone in sight that it's the best car in the world. He is looking for attention and thats it. I bet he doesn't like the Ferrari because it doesn't have the same "wow" factor as the Lambo. In fact I bet he is scared to admit that he loves to drive the Ferrari, because it's a more drivable car. Hey Allen..when Lambo figures out how to build a transmission that isn't like shifting a tractor let me know. For now I'll settle for the gun bolt action of the Ferrari's. |

Haha i posted on the Viper boards that Ferrari owners think their cars are the greatest, and fastest of the bunch. Little do they know.. theyre not. Are they great cars, yes... do i hate my 355? No, but i was extremely dissapointed with its performance and therefore immediately took it to the shop. Yes Lambos are pieces of , thats why if you look on this forum, everyother thread is about Ferraris unreliability. Show me a Ferrari, 1998 or newer that is driven like mine, sprayed with nos, and has NEVER been in the shop? Also no expensive timing belt mainteneces along the way. As for bashing Vipers, never happened. I always support the Vipers, and still stand by the fact that, 2 equal drivers, one in a Sv, one a GTS, both stock, the Sv will win. Obviously, Viper guy gets good launch, Lambo driver sucks, the Viper will win. I also know the Viper will beat the Murci on the track, it is far too heavy. Inmo, the Viper is the closest competitor to the Lambo, and beats it in many ways, my biggest arguement is that instead of the Viper, it should be Ferrari emblazoned in battle with the Lambo, and unfortunately, just as the Motor Trend article showed, it is lagging far behind. |

Allan: quote:dont have higher res pics. Those guys are a bunch of blowhards in Ferrari 308's thinking they have the greatest cars in the world, because Michael Schumacker wins F1. Well, i have news for them, i have and have had several Ferrari's, and from a performance aspect, theyre mediocre at best! Theyre are always quick to point out the F40-F50 and Enzo. For the price, they should be awesome.
ok this hurts ...this coming from a guy who admired you back in your NSX days, and thought (and still do) highy of all your cars. Mind you some of us (and even you once said this) like 3x8s, and many are looking for other sport cars, Ferraris most likely albeit, to add to their collection, and just so happen to have a 3x8. Many have 3x8s and other Ferraris...I can go on and on. |

Ferraris are hands down the best engineered of any exotics, it's an infinitely more rational decision than any other vehicle in the market they are in. And the argument of not having enough money to buy a $300G car is ridiculous. That would imply that the same person would ridicule F40s, F50s, etc. The issue is spending that much money on such a poorly built vehicle. |

Before the Viper or Viper board bashing commences, Allan went through a looooong lengthy "Vipers suck Lambos rule" thread over there a while back, after a guy with a Viper ACR posted a story about a Diablo SV he raced (and beat). Allan claimed it was impossible under any circumstances, and posted more proof than you can shake a stick at. I said before in another thread, any true auto enthusiast can and will appreciate any vehicle. Brand bashing occurs when someone feels their car bolsters their image. Problem is, alot of folks buy nice cars for the image. It happens on both sides - but remember guys, those who bash Lambos and don't see any value in a Diablo ro Murci are just as bad as those they would bash. Having said that, Allan does have a tremendous inferiority complex Allan, you do know the SRT will wax a Diablo and smoke a Murci if it gets a good launch, right? And forget about the road course - not even close. All in an $80k factory convertible (just teasing) |

You know, i'd love to post the following on that Viper board: Guys (and gals where applicable): somebody forwarded the Viper-Lambo-Ferrari test thread to FerrariChat, so that we could see what our friend AllanLambo was up to on your board. You should know that while on the Internet, as in life, it takes all types the only person in recent memory who has appeared to be a blowhard on the ferrari board is Allan himself, who seems intent on proving to all those who will listen, whether they want to or not, that the Lambo is the ultimate, that it beats Ferrari, and therefore, Allan is cool. The truth is that this board, like yours, is made up of a wide variety of enthusiasts, from varied backgrounds, with differing levels of driving and ownership experiences, and most of us can appreciate a US muscle car, a fast japanese bike, or an off the wall exotic. Far from being a bunch of blowhards with 308s, this board includes owners of racing cars of various marques, and a considerable number of owners of vintage and modern 12 cyl. ferraris, as well as a number of people who have huge ferrari knowledge, mechanically, and historically, and make our community a valuable one for newcomers and seasoned owners, alike. As i posted recently to our board in response to one of Allan's latest diatribes on Lambo (which was really more about bashing Ferrari than praising Lambo), its sad because i for one actually like Lambo and but for service issues in the northeast, would consider owning one. I honestly think Allan does a disservice to car enthusiasts, and Lambo owners in particular, by being such an A S S HOLE, and wanted to let you guys (and gals) know that exotic car ownership, from my perspective at least (shared, i am certain by many on the ferrari board), is that you don't have to act like a c u n t just because you own some fancy car. Having said that, may be you guys want to continue to listen to Allan. I don't think anybody here really does. Regards, and good driving. |

Bret, People "in the know" frequently comment on how cars of brand X are "real pieces of $h!t", but think about it - do you think the guy driving the lambo really was looking for quality of engineering? Honda or the Germans are probably the best there. Reliability? Toyota is the car. Value for money? Kia, Daewoo and Hyundia will get you there alot cheaper. So why do people really buy these cars? Because they can. Because a Lambo looks amazing and has awesome performance. As do many Ferraris (I'm not a fan of early cars - just my preference). And conversely - why do people say "that guy is such a wanker for spending 300 large on that car!"??? Because they don't have 300 large to spend on a car. Come on - nobody ever bought any Ferrari or Lambo as a rational decision, did they? I sure hope not. |

I was gonna add in one of the worst engineered next to Jaguar and Bentley, I didn't want to bite off too much in my rant though. It has been said many times before, doing a full service on a V12 Jaguar is one of the few things in life that will make a grown man cry. |

Lamborghinis are one of the poorest built cars ever, hands down. On top of that they are engineered by morons making them much harder to work on despite their greater need for maintenance. People like to ignore this though. I'm thoroughly convinced that the car industry is 95% based on ignorance. All these people see some guy in a Lamborghini and think wow, that guy is cool, that car kicks ass, etc. Start working on them all day and you'll think like me. Wow, that guy is a moron, he spent $300k on a total piece of , way to go wanker. |

We see eye to eye on that matter Hubert. Why keep the 355 if you dont like? I had a Ford one time, but I just wasnt satisfied with it, so I sold it lickity split. With that in mind I dont plan to ever buy another one as well. I can understand if he doesnt like the 355, and if he doenst like Ferrari, thats his opinion. But, its just being hypocritical to keep one. |
