Yes, I did refresh the fuel that first day - didn't change any, but there wasn't a whole lot left, may have evaporated and can't recall how much was left in the beginning.

I'll ask about the plugs as well, just seemed odd as it started every other time just fine, and then all of a sudden it runs extremely rough, then mildly rough on the next start for the first minute or so.

Anyway, thanks for the advice and any additional thoughts.

Best,
~Chris

Some engines don't tolerate a cold start with a quick shut off. Plugs can get fouled. It is not a good thing to do.

Ditto the comment about the fuel.

Did you also change/refresh the fuel?

Hi All,

Unlike most of you, I'm not mechanically inclined, but have read enough on these boards over the years to continue educating myself about cars/mechanics.

My car that I'm selling soon, a 300zx, has been in storage for the last nine months while I've been on a film in Alabama. I wish I had known more about proper storage steps like disconnecting the battery, etc., but I stored it for eight months a year before that while I was on Road to Perdition in Chicago for eight months and had no problems, so I didn't expect any this time.

I had the fluids changed before storage. When I got the car out of storage last week, the battery was dead and had to be replaced. After that, I immediately had the synthetic oil changed, the transmission fluid changed, and the radiator flushed, all by the local EZ Lube. When I was changing the battery (I thought I could at least handle that) a small plastic clip I was trying to pop out of a panel to access the battery flipped into the engine somewhere. I looked everywhere, but could never locate it.

Anyway, everything seemed to be running smooth. I had one instance where the car seemed to be running a bit rough, but it smoothed out in about a minute or so. Then, last night my fiancee and I were switching parking spaces in the garage and when I started the car up it was running really rough, the tach was bobbling up and down at 1 and below and I just switched spots quickly, then shut it off. The car hadn't been run in over a day. This morning it was running rough again for a few minutes, but not as bad as the night before. When I stopped in to unload some boxes at work this morning, I noticed some fluid from where I had parked.

Think I'll run it by EZ Lube again, but wanted to see if anyone here had any insights or advice...

Many thanks!
~Chris
