American Collectors through USAA. By itself, American Collectors is a great policy and USAA gave me a discount on their already ridiculously low rates. Agreed value, 2,500 miles limited to club/show/rally events which can be raised to 5,000 miles if you ask nicely after the first year. No deductable, comprehensive/collision, must be garaged or stored, must have another car as primary (they carry only the "classic" car). Check them out, no affiliation, but I'm a happy customer and know many others who are too. I may be forgetting some things. Check them out. Sunny |

Who do you use? Also, if you are going to purchase a restoration project, does the company insure the car if it's not in running order, etc? How does the valuation of the vehicle work? Is it something that you will have to get a whole new policy for as soon as the restoration work is done? What kind of premiums would one be looking at if the car is going to be going through a full restoration (read: in the shop for quite some time and not on the street). The car I imagine would be driven periodically to test out any work done on it. Cheers |
