Ming, of course that was me, there are less than a handful of red 3 door 147s in HK, you will be seeing a whole lot of me zipping around Happy Valley to Central. It's a really nice driving car, everything is very light to the touch (steering, shifter, clutch), perfect for HK. I'm still waiting to get a ride in your Ghibli, maybe I can convince my gf to go for a three car stable. I did the morning drive with Peter K. last weekend, it was a lot of fun running with the 355s and 550s. How's your 456 search coming along? Mitchel-I hear the Maseratis are very powerful, I'm trying to get a ride in Ming's Ghibli. Keeping an eye out for a 96 and up V8 Quattroporte. |

Beautiful car Chris! I am not sure if it was you who drove the car in Gloucester road last week. Enjoy!

Hi Chris! Thats is a superb looking car you have there! My Quattroporte is a 85 Series 3. The car you mention is a series 4. My car is a monster, with the same engine as the Bora and Ghibli. I also had a 87 Biturbo Si coupe, that was a thrill to drive! |

Mitchel, btw, how do you like your Maserati Q? My gf likes the look and wanted me to get one. I'm ok with the look and but prefer the Ghibli better. I saw a 95 Q for sale at a decent low price USD12,000, but it was idling rough and I disliked the interior. Any comments on how the biturbo sixes compare to the 96 and up V8s. |

Done deal! Bought it yesterday. Even though they sell it here in HK it is a very rare car to see on the road, a 3 door hatch 147. You see 156's more often but I rarely see 147s cause they are so new and not a typical practical 4 door sedan they love so much here. It is red with beige leather, an awesome color combo. I plan on changing the springs which lowers it about 25mm and should deliver very sharp handling, plus a set of 17" rims. It looks just like the red cars you see in their promotional brochures. Will post pics as soon as I can. I know, the US has quite boring cars at times. UK or other parts of Europe are the best to enjoy everything the auto manufacturers has to offer. The only exciting car I like available in the states is the Audi S4 Avant (I actually used to own one). The quality in the new Alfas are comparable to the audis. Will I think the 147 is the sexiest hatch made. |

I think the 147 is a great looking car. I wish they sold them here. Go for it man! |

Test drove it, had a nice ride (audi like), new looking interior and ok power. Would be my everyday car. Weighing that against the renault clio 172, very powerful and great handling car, can keep up with f-cars in the twisties, about 5,000USD cheaper than Alfa, both 2001 used models. If I get the Alfa I'll have a pure Italian stable. Any comments? |
