On a serious note....I guess you all read about Dwayne Goodrich? 2am, 100mph near I-35/Walnut Hill, 2 guys dead....only one thing over there at that hour and that is strip clubs and beer. So lets all be careful leaving our events in fast cars. I am all for fun, but man talk about somebody wanting a do-over...... |

I saw 135 after our last exotic car night. Probably a good reason not to attend the next one. |

Don't worry Eddie, that hasn't stopped anyone in the past. I just accept that my neck will be a wee sore the next day. I guess that's what I get for being so slow. I've had the 328 for over 2 years and it's only seen 125. That was only for about 2 seconds before I got off it again. More fun to take on the tight twisties. |

Rob, specs do indicate 200+ mph. However, I'm positive that I'll never confirm that claim personally! Jim, it may not be such a good idea to use Rob for target practice, given the fact that I've only recently met him!!!!Sounds like lots of fun, but I do have things planned for tomorrow evening. Thanks for the invite anyway. |

Hi Rob, That would be fine. I will definitely forward on anything I get to the group. Our list has a pretty large distribution, though, so it could generate more turn-out than you intend. Hard to say. As much as I love the Porsche club, since the membership is so large and active, most of the local events are full up with almost all Porsches. It would be fun to see some different cars for a change. Some kind of joint club DE at MSR would be great, too, although it might be prohibitively difficult to organize. Maybe something to consider. Keep the shiny side up. |

Hello Hill, I noticed the Maverick region has about 20 various positions, I just picked out 3-4 like President, VP, and events to forward the invite on. They must not of sent it on, next time we'll go through you. This will be a fun event for everyone through next year. We're thinking about doing it every 3 months. This time around probably only the Lotus and Viper clubs got notice. Still a good turnout though and we had 6 Vipers even though there was another Viper event that night. |

Hi Bob. I'm sure we'll meet up again in the future. Yes, I know Jeff. He comes to the club meetings. And mine is a '72, though as with most Panteras, its not stock (the motor is fairly stock however)--BMW Biarritz Blue, Mindtrain headers, Holley 700DP, engine bay roll bar, custom wheels, and custom interior. |

Matt, sorry I missed your Pantera... I wish I could have seen it. My brother (Jeff) has owned his white '74 L for 20+ years... he tells me your car is very nice! I believe you guys have met... he lives in Plano. Is yours a '71 or '72? |

Nice to meet you again Rob. Some great cars to be sure. First 575 I'd seen (not that I could tell the diff between it and a 550). Hopefully we can get an Italian car show going sometime in the future, if not an altogether foreign and/or exotic car show gathering. Good bunch of folks. Looking forward to another meet. Thanks for posting the pictures. Nice to see my Pantera pictured there. |

Stef and I enjoyed the event. It was nice seeing other 308s to compare to and get ideas from. A very good selection of vehicles. Carson's was pretty quiet, but I didn't mind. It made it easier to go in and out and hang out by the cars. I think you definitely need plenty of daylight to inspect the hardware and get pictures, at least 90 minutes or so. I'll stay longer next time for pool and such, we had to be somewhere later. After lunch, I made the mistake of leaving a half beer on the table when I walked out to the parking lot. I loitered too long, and my beer got picked up, although it had probably already assumed room temperature. Enjoyed meeting everyone. If Jerry has a seat scrubbing party, I'm in! His new interior looked outstanding. |

Thanks everyone for coming out. We had a better Ferrari turnout than I expected, but fewer other makes. I feel bad about moving before 6pm to SoHo's, but Carsons was dead and I go with the flow. I'm sure there were several showing up after we left from the other clubs, I did tell the valet to let people know we were moving to SoHo's. By the time I left Carsons from the other clubs there were 1 Lamborghini, 2 Lotus, 1 Pantera, 1 NSX, and at least 6 total Vipers. The total Ferrari count outnumbered them! It was a come and go day for most everyone, but I'm glad everyone took a few hours out of their busy holiday and family schedule. The final Ferrari lineup was... 308 GTSi 308 GTSi 308 GTS QV 328 GTS 328 GTS 328 GTS 348 ts Mondial t coupe 355 GTB 365 2+2 Testarossa Testarossa Twin Turbo 575 Nice diversity and the sit down meal was good. I think next year we'll go back to an evening event, get reservations, and make sure there's a good hour of daylight to enjoy the cars. I think the best part is hanging around the cars talking. Thanks Jonathan for the ride in the Diablo, that made my day.

Great time! Nice to see a few fellow 308'ers there! Pleasure meeting Ron R and his wife. Think I even got some folks excited about redoing their interiors. Got to meet Eddie with the sweetest 575. Still need to find someone who wants to show up with their 246. Have not seen one of those since FCA meet two yrs ago. These things are always a great way to exchange ideas and enjoy a little distraction. I was very excited to find others with 308's to exchange thoughts with. Thanks to Rob for setting it. I agree with Ric... bring on the "Fun Run". Invasion of a small town nearby would be a blast. Come out in force and show our colors. Maybe even pull an overnighter somewhere. Greg....Jan is around the corner, get the scotch brights and thinner ready cause were goin in! |

The main event for us isn't being diluted, the FCA crowd will have it to ourselves from 1-4pm. That will be an hour to view the Ferraris and chat, then 2 hours for a sit down meal. All the other clubs have been told 4pm, they don't know we're there from 1pm on. So it's the best of both. The Ferrari crowd for an intimate meal and I bet many won't stay beyond that. However, a few will choose to remain (5 Ferrari people closed it down last time) and those can enjoy everyone's company. The official FCA event is only to 4pm. Markus from Players Run is flying in from LA to hopefully recruit participants for his February event later in the evening. It's Exotic Car Night, not Ferrari Car Night, although next year we'll have a diverse group of events that most will be Ferrari only and others will partner with other car clubs like this. So in summary, as I said in my email and post. This is a FCA DFW event until 5pm and then a multiple car club/Players Run event beyond that. |

Don't flame me for this, but why has the event been "diluted"? Is it a more-is-better thing? I thouroughly enjoyed the last one, and had more than enough conversation all night. Just curious. |

How did things end up working with the valets last time? I'd really prefer to park it myself. Last time, y'all mentioned paying a valet when you get there, and not when you leave. How do you make sure you get the same guy? I normally pay them when I leave. |

When: Saturday, December 14th, 1pm arrive, 2pm SIT DOWN meal this time. Where: Carsons Palace http://www.carsonspalace.com/ What: DFW Exotic Car Nights #2. First event had 13 Ferraris and more than 30 people in attendance. We're trying this one earlier in the afternoon to enjoy the cars in daylight and everything is booked past 5pm. We can still enjoy the bar, gameroom, dancing, live band, and scenery late into the evening. We just have to leave the tables at 4pm. This time I need a RSVP please ASAP if you'll be eating at 2pm. Reservation is for 15 and I may need to expand if as popular as last time. This event will be a joint FerrariChat.com event and FCA DFW event until about 5pm. From 5pm on this event will not be affiliated with the FCA, only FerrariChat.com and Players Run. Let me know if I need to add any other details. My F car will be there rain or shine. |
