Sorry JRV,

No Lambo models out there. The Miura you got was part of a Jay Leno limited set. I did pick up something for your collection. I'll run it by your shop.

Hey Will, are you going back again? Matt Lemus needs all the Jalpa models if they have any and Alan Leach needs any LM-002's if they have any of those. And I'll take another Miura Model if you find any. :-)

TIA...

Regards, JRV

I went out there again today to see if any Ferraris were part of the managers special Thursday sale. none yet, but they still have great prices. I picked the 2001 1/43rd F1 cars, 1/18th 355 spyder & 360 spyder. The best thing to do is check next week to see if Mattel having a Thursday sale on Ferrari items. Good luck :-O

One last thing, be sure to dig through the stacks. There was only 1 250LM there, and it was on the top shelf, in the back under a few others. They have ton of 550B's, but some are priced $30.99, and others are $17.99. Check your price tags. They also a bunch of silver 355 spiders in damaged boxes for about $8. If you don't care about the box, thats a good deal. The damaged box cars are on the back wall, left hand side of the store as you walk in.

Mattel Toy Club
(817) 302-3360
501 Meacham Blvd
Fort Worth, TX

The map doesn't show all of the actual roads where the toy club is, it's a very new area.

The store is open on Saturday.

Take 183 from Irving to loop 820 West. Stay on 820 until you cross I-35W. Take the 2nd exit after 35, I think it's Blue Mound. Turn left on Blue Mound and go under the highway. You'll pass a Wendys, McDonalds, KFC, Arbys. Cross the railroad tracks. The next light should be Meechum. Turn right on Meechum. By this time, you'll be thinking 'where the hell am I'? The Mattel Warehouse will be a few blocks down on your right. Turn right on the street after the warehouse and go to the back (north side) of the warehouse. You'll see the signs for the store.

Here's a map:

Anybody know if the store is open on Saturdays? The E55 needs some exercise after sitting in my garage for a month while I have been in NYC, and a trip to FW might be good.

Jim, I'd like to collect these model cars and visit the outlet store. As I'm not familiar with Ft.Worth, can you give me a clearer direction to get there from Dallas? Does the outlet have a number that I can call for directions? Thanks for your help.

I've never seen a 1/18 308 by any manufacturer. I have the same 328 by Anson that Rob does, but it doesn't compare to the other brands.

I don't think Mattel has ever made a 308, you think it would be popular just for that reason. However, I guess most of their market is kids and not people that actually own the car. A little kid wants an Enzo!

The only 328 I was able to find was an Anson, they aren't made anymore and go for $60-120 on ebay.

Jim,
Any chance they had any 308 GTS cars? I've not come across any despite much searching.
Be a good excuse for a fun drive up from Austin on the side roads of I35 if they do.

Cheers,
phil

I just unloaded my haul and glanced at my receipt. They charged me $.40 for my remote battery instead of $6. I guess she keyed in .40 for the discount, and I got it for that price instead. My lucky day!

Have fun tomorrow Will, they had enough F1 cars to start a series! It was nice to meet you.

Thanks, I'll make a run over there.

Amazing! I lived in Fort Worth for 49 years, then got a decent(?) job in Garland and now live in Rowlett. Has the outlet been in FW for decades and I didn't know it?

All of the 1/18 cars were $17.99 plus 20% off. The F1 cars were $21.99 I think. I bought 3 cars and a battery for a remote control car and spent $40.

The outlet is off of Meachum (Meechum?)about a mile west of I-35 in a warehouse district in Fort Worth. Find the Mattel Warehouse, it's in the back.

Jim, hope you can find enough parking for your newest additions. I thought we were going to need a trailer to get all those cars back. And thanks again for the ride over... cool place!

Will, I enjoyed meeting you!

We made a trip to the Mattel Outlet today to scout their Ferrari inventory. It was by far the largest I'd ever seen. I picked up a silver 355 Spider, a 575MM, and 512M. I also saw 360 Spiders, 550B's, 250LM's and numerous F1 cars in 1/18 and 1/43. It was a good trip.

BobD joined me for the ride over and we met Will Huber from Houston at the store. I'm making room on my shelf for my latest acquisitions now.
