Jim - Congrats! Your world is about to be made immeasurably better. If you don't yet have the book "What to Expect When You're Expecting", buy it - it's a Bible at this stage for your first child.

Congratulations Jim! I hope you and your new family to be to have many blessings! When the time comes, do you want to know the sex of the baby or have it be a surprise? What would you rather have a boy or a girl or does it matter? Best regards, Marcus |

Easy to SAY you'll dump the kid, much harder to do. You're about to see a side of your wife you didn't know existed. Go to Paris, don't drink. I've been told you can have fun without booze. You should enough FF miles to go whereever you want. If they're on AA, use them before they go bankrupt! |

Paris is on our to do list. I have been just about everywhere due to work and she liked Paris so that is it. Problem is she can't drink now so will wait. We WILL dump the kid with relatives and take a break. I am about out of credit card debt and when that is done I will prob get the car. The only drawback is she wants to not work and I really need her income unless I figure out a better way. Speaking of income. One of my friends is getting $2800 back in taxes plus $18K he should have gotten 2 years ago and he just got a stock check for $12K, $5K and has another one coming for $6K next week and then a bonus of about $1K. So total that is $45K he just got handed to him. Damn dotcomers and their stock options! |

I'll give you same advice I give all first time parents. 1. Go on vacation. A REALLY nice one. Go to New Zealand or where ever you've always wanted to to. Go for more than a week. If you don't, it will be YEARS before you can do it again. 2. Buy whatever toy you've always wanted. The baby will be fine and needs less than you think, but your mind set will change fast when it arrives. |

The reason I have been so wishy washy with the fcar is that we have been trying to get pregnant and the financial responsibilities that come with that. Anyway, we suceeded and she is 6 weeks along. Still early so could have a lot of problems, but pretty excited. Just need a baby on board sign for the ferrari to be. |
