Immitation is the sincerest form of wannabe. Seriously, I always thought building a replicar was the worst possible thing you could do to a vehicle. They generally appeal to people that think it is important to impress with their posessions and that haven't found anything suitable to express how valuable a person they are. Problem is, most kits are totally transparent as to their origins and just scream 'poser'. That being said, I wouldn't mind owning a Daytona Spider replica just because I think it is a stunning car. Maybe a 350 GTO too. Just keep me away from a Vettestarossa or a Fierrari. |

Well, first off, I'm now working in Houston for the next few months, so if you guys ever get together during a weekday, I'd like to join you. But, as the topic says.... Yesterday when I got back to the Hyatt in downtown, riding in the elevator, I noticed something strange parked on the street. It looked like a Miata or MR-2 with a body kit to look like a 355. Kinda. It was a really interesting mix, but the thing that got me was the prancing horse on the back. Not being an F-car owner yet, I kinda chuckled, but how do these things make you guys feel? I just can't imagine how much someone paid for this kit and why. |
