Eddie, I haven't read everything on it yet, but Ruebens had fuel delivery problems and Michael went off on that same corner as everyone else. The problem with that corner was it had a variable flow of water for some reason. Every lap they went through there might not be any flow or a stream going through. They couldn't predict it and evidently it was described as a crap shoot whether you would be fine through there or not. I don't think Michael had much to do with going off.

Rob, do you know what exactly happened to Ruben's car?? Did it run out of fuel or was it something mechanically related? I think this makes the 10th consecutive DNF's for him in his home Grand Prix! What luck! I was actually surprised that Michael retired early. I thought that based on his superior driving, particularly in the wet condition, he would be the least likely to retire early due to driver error. Can't wait to see the new F2003 in the upcoming race.

couldn't sleep last night so watched some of the Brazil race at 2:30am. Got tired of watching them follow the pace car so went back to bed.

Man that NASCAR blow up was huge...all from a blown rear tire.

I agree, it would of been legit if Jordan would of won. That's really the only major problem I had with the results. I don't understand the rule of going backwards.

Otherwise I think the rain conditions produced the best racing and passing I think I've ever seen in F1. I wish there was that much passing and car to car battles every F1 race.

I still prefer Ferrari sports car racing over F1, but F1 is ahead of most other forms of car racing in my books. That NASCAR wreck was a huge spectacle, too bad there wasn't any of that at TMS.

What I saw on the TV Sunday (after the baseball game) wasn't racing. It was a spectacle, but the results are not related to racing in any way... :-(

I had every intention of being there, but got tied up doing hail damage duty. Glad to hear Rob had a 12cyl day. Why is it Rob always gets to take the girls for a ride?

Thanks for the ride Cory! I appreciate it. Sorry for calling you Carl all day. Only names I can remember are Ferrari names. You have a very special car and it was a pleasure to get a ride.

You probably already knew this stuff...

Well, as typical of the past few years, there is hardly any Ferrari turnout. Just shows that the modern tifosi aren't really racing fans as the origins of Ferrari started. There was a good SCCA turnout as usual. I did get my first ride in a 330 2+2 that was the gift from Enzo to Surtes for winning the world championship. The S/N is also only 2 off from one of the GTO's so it shared many a construction days with a GTO. The car is 40 years old and has never been rebuilt. The engine still puts out strong leak down and compression numbers. Thanks very much to Carl for giving Greg and I a ride. It was almost the thrill of my day. I didn't think anything could top it, but 10 hours later hanging outside on some patio somewhere Greg throws me the keys to the Testarossa and tells me to take this girl for a ride. Who am I to deny some random stranger a ride in a Ferrari. LOL, first thing she said while inside was I don't know you and I trust you, LOL, I was good and it was a pleasure to drive a Ferrari 12 for the first time in my life. First impression was it's very similar to drive as the 328, but damn, that hp and torque is just amazing. I was getting the back to wiggle just half way accelerating in 1st and 2nd. Wow, what a day, time to sleep.

Hope the weather holds out, I've been getting emails from several that plan on going. Looks like it will be more than 3 Ferraris.

Mine is still up on jack stands, so I'll be in the BMW unless the hail knocked the windows out.

top, it will be a good turnout, the BMW Club, FCA, SCCA, and SRX7 groups have been notified. Prob 20-40 people and the usual handful of Ferraris. Maybe even a 330 2+2!

It turns out I have baseball tickets that day. I like racing, but early-season baseball is the best, IMHO.

I may come by for lunch, but won't stay the whole race if I do. That's IF I get my car back in time.

oh my gosh Cory, if you bring the 330 2+2, oh my, oh my, oh my.

These F1 watching parties usually get a good turnout, I started these about 3 years ago and I've always invited the various motorsport groups I'm involved with... Ferrari, SCCA, Spec. Rx7, and BMW Club. The Ferrari turnout is usually only 3-5 cars, but that was in years past. I really don't expect more than that, but who knows, there's many more Ferrari people that at least know about it this time around. The SCCA and Spec. Rx7 racing guys and gals are a really good group. I've found that almost all of the SCCA/SRX7 group likes racing (duh!), but only a smaller percentage of the general Ferrari crowd actively watches racing.

Planning to bring my '64 330 GT 2+2. Let's have a good turnout of cars.....remember, stale stagnant gas is the enemy of most carbs, especially the old Webers. Get 'em out of the garage and turn some heads! The map on the first post is really helpful. thanks, CR

Will Coultard whine? Will Ferrari return to the podium? Will Da Matta please the home fans? Are those French cars really that good? Will Montoya and Shuey II get in a fight? How much beer will Rob drink?
