Well it was mighty fine!!!! A few cuties came by and we made about three hundred Art Car stencils for the kids. And ALL the ice cream you could eat!

A funny thing, once I was placed on the patio in front of the gallery, I was feeling like the king of the hill. Then a red F40 goes zipping by on Inter-campus drive!!!! Probably a Rice student late for class.

As I left the Art gallery curators all had my paintings posted on the walls! All in all a great time. I made the "spotters" thread that AM too!

Info on the election schedule from FCA??

Also, have you had a chance to Mull Over your tenative nomination?

Regards, JRV
ps: we might have a running mate lined up also.

It has a good beat and you can dance to it!
I give it an eight on a ten scale. I'll think about this, over my free ice cream.

Thanks for the testimonial, bro!

It's all about the kids, man.
They need a dream to keep 'em in the right direction. Everybody have a great weekend!

Hey Alan,

you know something, you got me thinking, with all your varied community interests, and the tireless selfless way you go about promoting and helping such worthy causes as Child Advocates, The art Car Festival.

Your endless energy and enthusiasim for Ferrari the Margue that makes you eligible for The Poster Child of Ferrari Entusiasts everywhere.....brings me to ask you this question....

The Houston Region FCA has a self appointed leadership that has been in place for many many years (too many)and has become ..how can I put this....long in the tooth so to speak...that hasreally dampened local enthusiasism and involvement. Well....after rattling a few cages about this mysterious lifetime leadership appointment (which is in reality an elected position) the winds of change have started to blow. My understanding is that a very few people were informed that Elections will finally take place again after all these years for several local Club positions. (Of course as of this writing the date and ballots are still secret, Duhhh..no wonder the old regime has been revoted in for so long)

Anyway..to my question...would you be interested in being nominated for the Houston Region FCA President postion as a write in candidate????

Regards, JRV
ps: please say yes, this region needs some new blood and a new attitude in the worst way!
pss: how does ALAN "SPEEDY 308" FOR PRESIDENT sound?

Be sure you watch for overhanging limbs on those
Rice University oak trees! They'd be hell on your new paint job. Take intercampus drive loop east from the stadium. Can't miss it! I'll save some ice cream.

As a part of Houston Museum District Day, Saturday September 6, 2003 10:00AM thru 5:00PM, The World's Fastest Art Car will be on display at the Rice University Art Gallery. All are invited to tour this gallery as well as all Houston Museum District members who waive the entry fees for this day only. METRO will also offer free transportation between museums.
We are excited to be associated with this event.
Our display will be generating Ferrari artwork for all attendees to take home as a momento, and the University will have free ice cream! Drop by and see us!
