Yes, Lawrence...the Ferrari turnout was rather low this year...especially for South/Central Florida...I guess the rain forcast scared a few away, which is the main reason I opted not to bring the 308 along (boy, do I regret that now). Thanks to Ferrari/Maserati of Central FL., there was a good assortment of "newer" F-cars to enjoy. Just heard the news that my buddy won 2nd place with his yellow Euro. 360 (see pic below). Looking forward to next year already -- and bringing the 308 as well! |

Great PICS from a great show this year! Thankfully the weather held out this year Vs last year. I was truly impressed to see a 550 Barchetta and a few F40's and a F50 in the rain last year. But, I was disappointed the F cars weren't participating this year. All in all, the Ferrari contingent is the best! |

Hello Greg, Sorry you weren't able to make it. At least now I know that the gentleman that my wife and I bumped into wasn't you after all . Don't blame you a bit for holding out due to the weather...only reason we attended in spite of the forecast was due to the fact that hotel reservations had already been locked in. Good move on your part though, spending time with your wife (and the Ferrari) is part of what makes life special. Indeed, a Ferrari get-together like you mentioned would be a great idea. I'm not that familiar with the Lake City area...only drove their once for a project that we were working on a few years back. Seem to recall that it was about an hour drive from here. |

Eric, I had my plans all set to go until I watched the weather forecast Friday evening which looked horrible. My wife originally had real estate showings all day Saturday (shes an agent)which would've worked perfect for me. Then, with the monsoon of rain pounding Tallahassee, all but one quick apointment bailed. We hadn't been able to see each other that much lately so I opted to spend a complete day with her. I also got a chance to wash and clay (Griots Garage) the Ferrari. From the pictures, I missed a hell of a day. Next year for sure. We still need to plan a "northern" Florida owners get together!...maybe meet in Lake City or thereabouts. |

Unfortunately, I was only a visitor this year. The weather predictions sort of swayed my decision on entering and bringing the 308. Sure wish I'd brought it now...would have been the only 308 in the bunch! Still was nice having a few days off with the wife, and leisurely attending the event. Will certainly bring the car next year. The "silver" 360 spider was actually a champagne(light sandy gold) color with tan interior -- it was absolutely stunning -- the picture didn't capture the true beauty and color of this car. I saw it the day before in the service dept. of Ferrari of Central Florida (we spent a good part of the afternoon there). They mentioned that it would be one of the cars featured in the event. |

Sounds like a really awesome event... Yeah, the 360s caught my eye, too... The yellow one and the silver spider... Were you a contestant or just a visitor...? |

Hello DES...you're very welcome for the pics...glad you enjoyed them. Unfortunately, these were the only pics I was able to take before the camera finally died . The purple Diablo was indeed a sight to behold -- beautiful! There was a yellow one as well, nearly identical as far as options go, along with removable top. The owner had it out on "the green" the day before at the Inn. He was trying to talk this small child into sitting in it, but the little boy was a bit too bashful (sure wish I was still little ). The owner was a very cool guy...real laid back...stood around and answered everyone's questions...and even fired up the car for us! In addition to the pics, we also saw quite a few Panteras, NSX's, Porsches (the featured marque this year), Jaguars, Mercedes, etc. Some of the highlights were the Mercedes CLK GTR, a Mercedes Gull-Wing, a very rare early model Ferrari that was originally owned by one of the Sha of Iran's wives (worth about $1.7 million -- 98 point plus car), a 288 GTO, and several vintage Ferrari and Maserati race cars. Rumor had it that one particular owner present (along with his wife) owned the Mercedes CLK GTR, the Ferrari F50, the Porsche 911 GT1, two Jaguar XJ220's, and two McLaren F1's!! All the cars are parked in designated areas (according to marque) along the brick / paved downtown streets of Mt. Dora -- very picturesque -- and the streets are closed off for the duration of the event. They also have a ride & drive for all the contestants and their cars the day before. It's fun to hang around your favorite cars during the judging phase since they require them to be started up -- the 288 GTO was music to my ears! The yellow 360 in one of the pics belongs to a good friend of mine. Haven't heard how his car placed in the judging event yet.

As promised, here are several pictures from the Mt. Dora 2003 Exotic Car Festival. Sorry for the poor quality of many of the pics...camera was acting up, and the event was rather crowded so it was hard to get a good snapshot of some of the cars. These are only a sampler of all the exotics presented. Wish I could have taken some pics of all of them....enjoy!

Just returned home from the Mt. Dora event. It truly was a fantastic gathering...and the weather turned out to be very pleasant! Sorry I didn't get to meet up with you Paul...maybe next time. I brought along the camera, so will post some pics on Monday. Unfortunately, the batteries died out on me early on, so didn't get to snap as many pics as would have liked to. Was on the lookout for any fellow F-chatters, but don't think I met any. Did run into this one fellow who seemed to know me, and asked whether or not I brought the 308, etc. -- we carried on a pretty good conversation -- but for the life of me, I don't know who it was. When we walked away, I turned to my wife and asked "who was that?". He was tall with dark hair. Perhaps it was Greg Owens? Oh well. Did see my buddy Max and his yellow 360. In the end, I regret having not brought along the 308...it would have been the only one there! Will certainly do so next year. Enjoyed the visit over at Ferrari of Central Florida also. Raymond went out of his way to make our visit a memorable one! He gave us the full tour. Also visited our mechanics over at European Sports Car Service...they're like family. Also met up with my dear friend George (and his wife) from Leatherique...was good to see them again. Will post pics ASAP for you all. |

Scuderia Sarasota had a nice turnout at Mt. Dora exotic auto show today and we all had a great lunch together. There was recently resored super america at the show that looked like it just came from the factory! and I forgot my camera. |
