    We've seen Dino exterior mirrors on eBay from $65 to $450, but how much difference is there?
    There are a lot of great items for the Dinos being remanufactured, can you tell the difference between an original and repro exterior mirror?

    Helpful comments on what you consider the tell-tale signs to identify these differences are most appreciated. NOTE: All images depict the same mirror on the same side in all 3 photos

    The intention is to be fun and informative.
    Note: the mirror on the right has accidently lost its glass, so apologies on that in advance

    I put a $80 repop on my car, never had a concours judge *****, and guess what? You still can't see squat behind you with it.. :D

    The mirror on the right in all photos is the repro.
    An easy way to tell is that the shaft is threaded not smooth and chromed.

    Not threaded -- just machine marks
    I have 2 repro mirrors in front of me now, one smooth shaft, the other shows some machine marks

    I have a GT with no mirrors, and its a PITA now and again.

    Do the mirrors help ? Are they worth the hassle to fit ?

    I also have a GTS which came with 1 small clip on mirror on the drivers quarterlight window frame. I find it helpful, but having ordered another one recently it would not fit the GT as it's a different quarterlight frame setup. I am now in the do I drill the doors or not situation.
