I have a 1984 euro 308 GTS QV. I would like to restore the two GTS grills on the sidewindows. Currently they are painted black with silver stripes on the louvres. These stripes are hand-painted. Can anyone suggest how they were originally? Was it plastic without paint with the silver stripes, whether or not hand-painted or were they in the same matte or satine black as the topspoiler and the bumpers?
In attachment some pictures of the grills as they are.

    Regards, Bart

    Bart,

I BELIEVE (= I am not sure) that the very first GTSs had aluminium grills that were anodized black, with the silver stripes on the edges.
Then the grills went to black plastic, still with the silver edge.
Only the 328s (??) should have grills in black plastic without the silver edge.

    Rgds

(P.S: BBS are probably the only aftermarket wheels that, to my eye, are acceptable on a 308...)

You can see on the pictures above that my grills have two shades of black. The outer surface is satinee black, the louvres are a kind of mat black, more like grey. If iI understand and see it well it should be just satinee black with the silver stripes for a 308 QV.
The BBS.... love them or hate them :in real life they look even better :)
