Wanted to share what I found: 1984 308 GTS QV (US Version) - Door metal has an indentation that is 14mm deep - Inside diameter of this indentation is 162mm - Effective diameter of centers of mounting holes is 144mm - Diameter of internal speaker cut-out is 130mm Hope that this is helpful Best, John. When you put the door skin back on, there is about 25mm clearance between the indentation and the door skin (i.e., 25mm - 14mm for the depth of the indentation, leaving 11mm between the closest part of the metal and the door skin material). The speakers I had there were a perfect fit inside the indentation: Pioneer TS-A1675 (not the more recent "R" version).
One other dimension you might add is the "maximum depth of the speaker" (i.e., the distance perpendicular from the mounting surface back to whatever the speaker's magnet structure would contact).
...I thought about that Steve but there is actually quite a bit of room in there. I seriously doubt whether any speakers that are close to that diameter (and would therefore be candidates for fitting in the doors) would touch the back. By way of comparison, the Focal ISN 165's that I 'shaved' so that they would fit in the door did not have any problem at all. I was even able to leave the special protective piece that fits on the back of them in place.
