I need a new Potentiometer for my F355 passenger seat. Anyone have an idea where to get one for the best price? Thanks!
Here you go. It's not only cheaper to fix it instead of replacing it, but it's faster too, since you don't need to take as much stuff apart. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=288373
Repaired mine three months ago as per the thread for $5 in glue. Top still only works with the over ride switch, but the seat works now. Can't help to wonder if I made a mistake. If I had to do over again I would buy the Jag part for piece of mind. Be sure to test first by unplugging the white plug. If seat moves with white plug disconnected it's the potentiometer.
BINGO!! Just ordered some for my Omni. I'm now needing a sorce for cheap sawsall blades....gotta cut the right side passenger fender and chassis off(no body ever sets on that side anyway) so I can do cambelt replacement with the engine in.
Mitchell, I'm just pulling that old mans chain. My primo(lol) Dodge Omni deosn't use any high tech gizmos except power steering and brakes..lol
I fixed the potentiometer with epoxy, but the seat is disabled. Any trick to re-set the computer? I'm going to bring the car to Dave Helms, when he can squeeze me in, but it might be a while. Thanks.
I think you need to manually reset the value of the potentiometer to a value where the computer thinks it can move you around (because it has not hit its limits)
