It must be a 355 thing. I turned my radio on once to see if it worked on the 355 ( & is not even wired up now) but when I drive any of my other cars the radio is never off.

BUT has anybody ever found a set of 4 speakers that will replace the stock ones without all those add on boxes and amps in the trunk ?

I built these a prototypes. I was planning on eventually having them made out of fiberglass. Ideally, the bonnet would have holes in the speaker area with mesh instead of leather. But even with the leather, the sound is significantly better than just with the door speakers.

I have heard that the Focal 165 VRS 6.5" 2-Way Polyglass Component System speakers are a direct fit and significant upgrade.

Yup, I upgraded to the Focals noted above and like the results. The door speakers fit perfectly, but the stock Ferrari mounts for the tweeters required a bit of trimming, nothing a pair of nippers and a dremmel could not handle (and a quick coat of black spray on the mount itself). Challenging to get to the mounts.

How did you wire in the crossover? Was there a stock crossover that you had to replace?
