The one thing I miss in my porsches is the clean install of a V1 radar.
Ive done a search in the forum, hardly any DIY thread.

Has anybody done it as a DIY and tell me how they ran the wires from the panel behind the seats to the rear view mirror

    OR

Anybody just hardwired it in the dome lights. This is how I did it in my M5.

I don't know how to remove the dome lights safely and would appreciate if somebody can show me how.

Here's the post I used. I recently installed it in my F430.

You can remove the dome light by gently levering on the side of the actual light with a flat screwdriver. It falls right out with it's attached wiring. From that point forward, it's just using the alan key supplied in the ferrari tool kit to release the center dome plastic.

Running the wire is a bit tricky. I ran the telephone cord from behind the seat to the door, pulled off the black window/door seal and ran it in the seal along the door up the a-pillar. Then from there, I tucked it into the headliner to the dome light and down to the windshield. Good luck!

What method did you use, did you use the dome lights or used the seat back panel for power?

If yo used the seat back fuse box, where did you get the wire for connection?

    Thanks

Thanks for your help. I think I know what to do now. I will hardwire it using the back seat fuse box and basically tap like in a porsche.

I will take pics and post it here so that others may do it.

Like somebody said, its a 5 mins job, no cutting or removing trims needed.

    Will keep you posted.

If you can post detailed instructions (with pictures) I will very much appreciate since I am also interested in doing the same.

Sorry to bump this thread, but did you ever take pics of your hardwire install?
