Hi All, I am moving to a new residence next Friday...but huge problem, I can't put the 430 in the garage. Any ideas? Ramps? Thank you in advance for the help!!!
A little more information and location would help. Driveway or approach issues into the new garage? David
If the driveway is too steep, going in at a 45 degree angle helps a lot. Could also make sure there is no passenger (don't tell her why she needs to get out!), and no heavy stuff in the trunk. Make sure the tires are aired up too. Every millimeter helps! If you don't have them already, skid plates are good insurance!
thanks... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
For the time being, you need to fabricate something. Probably smarter ideas forthcoming, but if it were me, I'd do something simple with plywood for starters. Any idea what your HOA covenants allow for? Building it up with asphalt or cement is easy. Getting permission may not be.
You are better off going head in first not back in. Just use 45 angle. If you still have issues buy some wood.
Bridjit Ramp system - I have one and its perfect for your problem. Without it Belle wouldnt have a home either. You wont get stuck mid entry, you'll glide over that canyon you call a curb and into your new home.
Pardon the leaves - but you can see my curb was easily as deep as yours. Actually measured over 4" from road to drive. Bridjit in, sorted. Image Unavailable, Please Login
My curb is just like this. 45 degree entry works fine nose first. Sometimes even greater angle works.
I had also tried head in at 45 degree but wife said the skid pad touched... anyhow, I ordered bridjit from the giant woman whom shall remain nameless and should be delivered on Wednesday, in time for the move. Report and photo to follow. Thanks again.
I've got the Bridgit too. Join Amazon Prime however you can and it will ship for free. The worst thing about it is that it is heavy so if your HOA wont let you keep it there it can be a bear to tug around. Each section weighs 50 lbs IIRC. Nice product!
