While my mechanic said dont worry about it now, the metallic clicking noise when going over minimal bumps at low speed in my 430 is driving me crazy. I have read all the threads and today applied the group knowledge and will share pictures

1st pic: remove sway bar bushing- just 2 bolts - pull it over and lube bar under it with lithium grease
2nd pic: lube sway bar at wheel attachment, you can lift up the lip of the rubber cup and sprayed in lithium grease(thats the red tube)
3rd pics found 1 torn ball joint boot, shot in lithium, all other 4 ball joints looked good but still lubed.
Verdict- will have to wait till tomorow ran out of time and have to go to dinner- but I will post results good or bad.

Mine was the sway bar bushings--lithium grease fixed it.

tightened sway bar bushing end bolts
    tightened lower shock bolt
    lubed everything in sight
Still have the clicking when driving out the driveway or over small bumps!!!

when I raise and lower the car with my jack I dont hear the noise which I find strange since the suspension is being compressed and recoiled up and down??

Where else could this be coming from?? and apparently from all the responses it not uncommon???

If you have ball joints with compromised boots then its likely them. Clicking over bumps is classic ball-joint noise.

You can jack the car and force the joints by hand or with a second jack (depending on the joint) to see if it has any play. It is hard to reproduce the ball joint noise sometimes with a car jacked up Vs driving. But once the boot fails the ball joint is on its way out.

Doesn't Hill Engineering make a better ball joint than an OEM?

I don't know if it's the same clicking that you have, but I fixed a clicking in my 360 very easily. The sway bar end link on the right side loosened up about 1/2 turn or less and that was enough to create a clanking that sounded like a knocking on the floor board of the passenger side. I also thought it was the ball joints initially, but realized it was just a simple fix. The nut to check is the one on the edge of the sway bar tube (In your original post, 3rd picture, red thing points to it). You may have already checked it, but that's what fixed my problem.

My bet is on the lower ball joints. Changed all of my front end upper and lower ball joints on my Scuderia last winter. I went for the hill engineering upgraded version, fairly easy to do...

johan; Did you press out the old ball joints on-the-car, or did you remove the arm and use a bench/stand press? If so what ball joint separator/fork set did you use??

+1; use Hill E if they make the part you need!

Now that Ricambi has graciously sourced small portions of Hysol this can be a DIY.

Please review their DIY: Ferrari Parts, Accessories, and Performance Products - Ricambi America, Inc.

I removed the arm and put pressure on the joint with a vise. I then heated the ball joint. It came out easy. I think there are a DIY somewhere...
