I am having an issue with my 456M and hope someone can give some pointers. I was driving it last week and out of nowhere the dash display/gauges went out while on the road. The car seemed to run fine when it happened so I made it the 10 or so miles home. When I got it back to the house it was low on power and I noticed putting up the windows that they were moving very slow. I shut the car down and put the key in the on position to see the info screen display battery and suspension leveling system warnings. I checked the fuses and the 7.5 for the gauges/suspension was blown. After replacing it, I went for a ride around the block... didn't make it far before the gauges went out again. Back to the house and the fuses are out again.

I checked on the Q&A section and saw a thread started a couple years ago with a similar issue and someone mentioned the "lift sensor" but I cant locate it (anyone know where its at for sure?). On follow-up, the issue with his car went away on its own, but I'd rather sort it out rather than get stuck somewhere. Any pointers to 'common issues' that I can test before paying to flatbed it to Ferrari?

Was any electornics added to your car lately? Like new stereo or something? Otherwise, it was running perfectly fine before w/o modifications to the car?

I would go to eurospares for the drawings, http://www.eurospares.co.uk/index.asp?M=1&Mo=568&A=1&G= but I agree it is probalby the sensors. The M only has two possitions where the older 456 has three, but I believe even with the improved suspension lifts, there can be typical problems as is on the older 456's: they seem to get 'issues' after a time.

Do you play with the settings much? I suggest unless doing some spirited cornering, to let them stay on automatic.

I tracked down the lift sensor and unplugged it. No more issue with the gauges going out, part ordered and hoping to be back 100% in the next few days. Thanks for the help guys!

please post the part number and I will track down the drawing. I just got back the 456 today, Thanks Brian...EXCELLENT JOB. I am noticing a high pitched left rear lift sensor [sure of it] that needs replacing via the wheel well access door. Wonder if it's the same item as yours?
