Just mailed off my OEM rear exhaust system and, including packing material, it weighed 70 lbs. Allowing for ~5 lbs of packing materials, the stock exhaust would weigh ~65 lbs if you wan to compare it to an after market system. The Novitec system without valves I just sold weighs 37 lbs, quite a difference.

I agree... almost got crushed (well, almost ;) ) when I took the stockers off in order to put in the Tubis..... ( see pick for size comparison) : http://s570.photobucket.com/albums/ss141/SB550/?action=view&current=P1010577.jpg http://s570.photobucket.com/albums/ss141/SB550/?action=view&current=P1010576.jpg
In fact, not particularly happy about having to put the stockers back on ( putting one side in yesterday, just to make my life more complicated, the rear bolt that goes to the exhaust clamp broke off as I was tightening the nut by hand with a small ratchet....... ) but then again, considering the car almost weighs 4000 lbs...... ;)
    Cheers :)

Claudio- Impressive, the Novitecs were 18.4 lbs each, but then, they do have 90 mm tailpipes. Weight difference is probably right there in the larger tailpipes.

Did you sell your Tubis so quickly? Got a flash on Ferrariads and then they were gone before I could even open the ad.

Someone jumped one them pretty quick. After all I am giving 50% off sticker ( I think that is fair for a little usage and the great condition they are in).
They are 8cm (80 mm) in diameter, and 11cm / 14 cm in length... Not sure how that translates in a 2 lb weight difference... maybe it's just chromed plastic? (just kidding....)
I weighed them 3 times to be sure... I'm going to miss them... :(

Claudio- You are right. The difference between 80 mm and 90 mm (stock is 72 mm I think) tailpipes is not two pounds. Just heavier gauge SS in the muffler, I guess. The Novitec mufflers are way shorter than the stock mufflers and have longer tailpipes and an extended flange to make up the length so they fit. They get shipped out today. The new owner will love them.
