    F-Chat Live Auction - Sat Nov 26 - 2pm EST - Ferrari 550 Maranello

Bringing a new concept to Ferrarichat, the Yellow Compass Group as a sponsor will be holding a live auction for one of the cars in our inventory. We've coordinated with Rob Lay and hope to make this a regular feature on Ferrarichat offering a win/win situation where buyers can find beautiful Ferrari's at fair prices. We hope that those interested in this rare car will get their finances in order this week and plan to join us for the auction.

    The car this week:
1999 550 Maranello in Argento Nurburgring over beige interior
    VIN: ZFFZR49A3X0115834
    25,000 miles

Car photos, videos, and information will be updated this weekend:
    1999 Ferrari 550 Maranello

Our For Sale ad on the car here at Ferrarichat:
    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/ferraris/506456-fs-1999-ferrari-550-maranello-hard-find-options.html

    Auction Location:
This thread here under the 456/550/575 section

    Auction Time:
    Saturday, November 26, 2016
    Start time: 2pm EST
    End Time: 3pm EST
    Put it on your calendars.

Beautiful 550 with hard to find options. This auction should enable a bidder to get an even better deal. By 2020 hybrids will be ushering in at Ferrari according to the CEO. Time to get your naturally aspirated cars now - especially the V12's...
    Minimum Opening Bid:
    $ 149,000 usd

    The Mechanic:
    Alfonso Joseph - Master Technician
    Services - J. Scuderia Automotive
We have asked "Fonzi" to be available for 2 hours prior to the auction start at our location with the car to provide FaceTime calls to answer any questions bidders may have. He has also performed a pre-purchase inspection on the car and his thoughts are shown in a video on our website.
Bidders can call us with any questions on the car at 1-973-610-7111

Clean Car fax and maint records are available on the Yellow Compass website and can also be emailed to bidders.

    Placing Bids:
Please feel free to place a bid on this thread at 2pm EST on Saturday Nov 26th. The auction is for registered Ferrarichat members and is transparent with existing user names so that the mods and all can follow where the results end up and who is interested in the car. Please focus on the auction of the car and take any market discussion to other threads - using typical Classified rules in play. We were asked to place the auction in the 456/550/575 section to appeal to the most parties.

    Bid Completion:
High bidder will need to contact The Yellow Compass Group concluding the auction to place a deposit on the car and finalize payment for delivery.

We look forward to seeing the car with its new enthusiast owner and continuing new auctions on Ferrarichat.

    Thanks for your interest.

    Mike

Are there any 550's on the market with the same options as this, condition and miles for less that $149k ?

If so, I have not seen them.

Best of luck on your sale, Mike. Lovely car.

With courtesy and respect to Mike in his thread, I will say if you are not interested in what he is offering, I'd suggest the same rules should apply as the classifieds.

    Best of luck, Mike :)

If someone wishes to remain anonymous, for whatever reason: could they PM you with their bid, request anonymity, and then you could publish their bid amount here, but mention that the bidder wishes to remain anonymous?

Just curious: I'm not in the market, but I know many folks prefer anonymity.

People can send Yellow Compass a pm to bid anonymously that we will forward to the mods / Rob Lay for transparency.

Additionally based on some requests , if we do not receive any bids until 2:55 PM EST , meaning that if the the first bid should come in within the last five minutes of the auction I will extend the auction by five minutes till 3:05 PM EST to give others a chance to bid competitively

I think it would be a great idea for a lower valued car - say, a 456 with a starting bid at $75k - for which you could tap into a bigger buyers pool...

I see 891 "views" of this thread currently.

Does that indicate that there have been 891 unique visitors since you created it on the 18th?

Perhaps Rob could tell us, or at least tell you as a site sponsor, what that statistic means as it might be illuminating.

This isn't an auction and doesn't have a state licensed auctioneer running it and therefore isn't governed under those standards. Feels more like a sales gimmick to get a classified Ferrari out of the appropriate sales sub-forum. What am I missing?

Views are not unique visitors but unique page downloads. So if you come back to the thread 3x to check on what's happened, then it counts as 3 views. But if you scroll down the page reading every post, it all counts as 1 view.

He's a sponsor and is entitled to place ads in the model sub-forums and run a sale in the manner he likes. It seemed like an interesting idea, too bad it didn't get any action.
