I finally took delivery, and that fact that I hadn't driven my GTB in 3 months probably made the initial drive home that much sweeter. I know it makes absolutely no sense, and lets just attribute it to the "now that I own it, it must be the best syndrome", but this cars sound louder and better with crackles and pops that I never heard in my GTB. Anyway, the exhaust switch is awesome and the suspension drop on stock shocks and springs if perfect. Can't wait for our Monterey trip in August were I'll be putting 800 miles on her.

Congrats on your new Giallo Spider - beautiful car !

How do the Daytona Racing seats in your new Spider compare to the 'regular' Daytona seats, that were in your 488 GTB, for general comfort?

Truth be told, not nearly as comfortable. I only went with the racing seat because of the extra leg room, which was badly needed in the spider. I would never order them in the GTB.

Looks great. Congrats. I knew it would be worth the wait. I'd live to hear how things turned out with your GTB but feel to PM if you would not announce to the world.

Yeah, I'm really not unhappy with the deal I struck. The dealer bought the car for $293k. Not what I was hoping for, but the market shifted and I think they were fair. I got enough equity out to get into my spider without writing a check. Good enough for me :)

I think your 488 GTB had a MSRP around $330K, is this close?

Thank you so much for your candid answer, and your specific reason for ordering the Daytona Racing seats in your new 488 Spider - sincerely appreciated.

Enjoy your new Spider - I am a big fan of Giallo on the 458 Italia and the 488 GTB and Spiders.

    Best - Dave

Congrats Arnie, great spec and stance!!!
    Enjoy her!! :) :)

Fwiw after having logged over 3K kilometers on a Spider, I found
the exhaust note to be far superior than that of the coupe, most likely
because of the open top design and the added proximity of the engine,
even when the top is up.

Additionally, the ability to raise and lower the back window when the top is
up is an added plus for hearing the engine, used that feature quite a bit
when driving in the rain for the first time ever in an F car!

Curiously, the back window did not fully come up in my car when the top was
down; interesting to hear if it does the same on yours.

The stock seats were also extremely comfortable on long distances,
never tried the race ones though.

The only thing I was missing in the exhaust is an exhaust valve controller
to have the valves constantly open, don't know if you installed that already.
Apart from that would leave everything else stock exhaust-wise.

    A presto e abbracci!!

Wow Arnie, your Spider looks beautiful, a very tasteful spec, enjoy it!

...even if your car is impressive 0.00001 seconds slower on a race track than a 720S. ;)

Nice Spec! Waiting game sucks. Getting ready to trade in GTB. My Spyder finally in 10G. Order was accepted by Ferrari in January. Hoping for delivery this year. Just got back from factory tour. Amazing! Keep us posted on the comparisons Arnie and enjoy it!

Beautiful car, well worth the wait. Quick question could you share how many mm you dropped the stock suspension? Also would you look at adding wheel spacers to finish off the look or are you happy with just lowering the car a bit.

I'm still waiting patiently received my final pic on May 10th and car is still somewhere between Jersey and Canada arghh!!

Congrats Arnie, Giallo looks incredible on this chassis! I thought the same thing about the overrun crackles/pops on the Spider compared to the GTB. Enjoy my friend!

MSRP was $321k and I would have paid $10k in commissions had the dealer sold it, which is like yielding $303k from the sale.

Thank you. As far as the drop, I'm not exactly sure. I used a ruler for a quick before and after and it looks like the drop is slight more than an inch. It's pretty crazy, but it makes such a big difference in the way the car looks and feels.
