Here is a photo of it at the Brian Redman Historical races at Road America two years ago. I threw in a few more Corvettes from the same historical race. That older guy next to the # 3 Cunningham Corvette is John Finch. Isn't NART, for a car produced in the USA..... redundant? I personally have never seen NART applied to any other marque than Ferrari. Perhaps I live in a cave....
You do. NART ran a Corvette at Le Mans in 72. Unlike the Ferrari's NART also entered it finished First in Class.
That older man by the Cunningham #3 Corvette is John Fitch, not John Finch. Sorry for the mistake. Tom Tanner/Scale Designs/Ferrari Expo-Chicago April 25th 2009
FYI, NART is an acronym for North American Racing Team ran by Luigi Chinetti, which raced Ferrari's which are made in Italy, not the USA. The then Ferrari tire sponsor Goodyear strongly suggested that Chinetti race a Goodyear shod Corvette under the NART banner at LeMans..and it won its class. Don't the bats bother you?
Excellent thread. The Cunningham solid axle cars and the NART Vette are some of my favorite race cars, make that favorite cars period, of all time. Thank you for bringing this up.
Thank you Frank, I always wondered where my Ferrari came from. This will help me when I need to order parts next time. BTW, could you tell me where a Lotus is made? I'm having a hardest time getting parts from my local NAPA guy. And if you can help me out one more time.... Luigi Chinetti is an acronym for what again....??? All ribbing aside, I was under the (obviously) wrong impression that NART ran exclusivley (thats a synonym for ONLY).... Ferraris. I had always assumed that they were a "division" as it were of a the factory. IMO, F-chat is a place of fellowship, shared passion, information and education...there is no need to be rude.
