I recently ordered a tow eye for my Boxer, which turned out to be too large. I was told I needed one for a late Boxer or an 87-90 TR. Part #125522. If anyone has one for a TR or a late Boxer of course, please let me know. PM is fine. Thanks all!

Are you unable to just order one from RA (or a similar supplier)?

I've got the OTHER stock tow hook 130993 that came with late TR, but it really doesn't fit unless modified (and even then, not too well) -- is this the one that you found is "too large"?:

Since, your thread size is M16 x 1.5P (which is a little bit oddball), TOW-02 would work too:

(Daniel -- IMO you should put the thread size in your descriptions for the various tow hooks and tow eyes -- it would be a valuable service to your customers).

Steve, I recently purchased a bolt to make up a tow hook for mine, and it was a 16x1mm thread. Fits my 1988.5 euro spec cars perfectly.

Thanks so much guys, and Steve you've given me WAY more dimensions than I bargained for. (And BTW, Ricambi is out of stock.) Will continue to pursue, but now I know what I need.

    Dear Ferraristi,

I had the same problem with my TR a few years ago. If you have a good relationship with your local F pimp, buy all of them, try out which works and return the rest. My TR has...I think 3 tow hooks for that car. The parts manuals are not too specific ( no surprise there ) about which one fits which year /SN.

My F pimp, central Florida Ferrari was pretty good about me trying them out.

    Ask your F pimp :D

Took your advice, called around and located one of the 'smaller' 12mm versions. Hope this is correct! Shamille, do you still own the THREE tow hooks? (I mean how unreliable is that car?!?!? KIDDING) If you care to trim your collection and mine doesn't work, would you be willing to part with one? (Now, after the smarty pants comment above, the price just skyrocketed.)

Steve, your info was invaluable too. Thanks again. Hope my small dilemma is solved. Great to be in Fchat.

Noooo, I only have the one. :D

My F pimp allowed me to buy all 3 types knowing I was going to return the ones that didn't fit. ( what dealer allows you to return something...without the fee? )The reason I suggested the local dealer ( great service from Ricambi ) was that you could walk in and try them if they had all three. Don't bother trying one from another car...no part # on the toweye.

BTW, after trial and error, mine fits really well. Since it was never used in the socket, the paint on the internal threads made it difficult to go in the first time. After a few back and forths...all goes smoothly.

The power of editing. There's a joke there somewhere, but it wouldn't belong in this forum. However, we're very glad to hear that all goes smoothly. Thanks Shamile!
