I have a doorrubber problem..... :-0) ! See the picture... During a long Autobahn ride we noticed a lot of noise on my door... and now I know what caused it. Anyone have the same..? How to cure this..? Simply use a good glue to get it in right order ..? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Look at the rubbers on your car please... In my photo, it looks as there are 2 separate... One on the top part and one on the side... they should be bound together I think... How is it on your doors ?
I posted a thread some years ago about this "problem". Do a search....... Use this to repair............It's called CA glue, aka super glue......there are different grades that are more supple and work very well. You can find different grades in art supply stores and also in hobby shops. Glue Me Kerry
Mine split apart at the corner a few years ago too. I touched one edge with a tiny drop of super glue and held it together for about 5 seconds. I hasn't come undone yet. That's been at least 5 years ago or longer. It should be an easy fix if your rubber hasn't shrunk to the point that it no longer meets the other rubber edge so that you can glue the two pieces together at the seam.
Mel, it's one piece. The rubber gets to the corner and then is moulded around. Instead of a point, it's actually a nocely rounded tip where the 90 degree bend is.
Thanx Rob and all others.... I am not the only one I see now.... It now makes much noise when driving (fast :-0) ) ............. Will have a look at repairing or get a new rubber.... As always it has a nice price......: f.i. at Eurospares: new to order £131.90 = Approx €165 ..> $ 200 + P&P......
Photo of the right side rubber; it looks as if the two sides of the rubber have a 3rd rubber part that joins the two together. That complete part seems to be missing on the left side. I simply glued it together....used a scissor.... and it seems to be very good and adequate solution ! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
