Holy Sh(*!!! You really did it lmao. The official tow hook thread!!??? Has it really come to this???? LOL

Okay, so here is the background. I am pleading with my F Chat brethren to help solve this tow hook magillla for Robbie. I swear to you, everyday, no matter what topic we are on, no matter what is going on in the world, Robbie will somehow bring up this F%^*)$G Tow Hook.
    Examples:
One day we were talking about Greece defaulting and the economy being in the toilet- lo and behold......"So, do u think there are any F-Chatters from Greece that might want to sell their tow hook?

Another time, we are having dinner at a diner. We were talking about going to a car show. Robbie digresses into mentioning how some people trailer their cars to the event..........what do you think comes up next?????? "If only I had a tow hook...."

Think I am finished???? There was a solar eclipse the other night and I was telling Robbie that I was setting my telescope up to see the event......what do you think he compares the eclipse to??? "No need to setup the telescope my man, it looks just like a tow hook"

I wanted to get him one for Christmas but I am afraid it can't wait lol.

Thanks by the way....I needed the laugh. "Speaking of laughs,.....did I ever tell you about the time I saw this tow hook............

If you met my father you would understand.. You need one person to watch him at all times.. My father is retired and he was a bodyman/metal man.. He always feels the need to start banging something.. We are fitting the sheet and all of a sudden is had a hammer and a large iece of wood because we need to shift it to the left a bit.. Strike!! sheetrock breaks.. Now we need another piece of sheetrock.. Oh.. my brother is a long shoreman.. lol.. They usually need two guys just to wave the flag all day... lol..

One difficulty is that the later "stock" ones (even though they have the right thread size) don't fit -- so you wouldn't want/can't use one of those (a search on the "130993" PN will get you some prior threads). The only option that I'm aware of is the Hill Engineering/Ricambi TOW-02 piece...

My original 1988 TR tow hook (LH photo 1), like many others have complained of, does not fit this application (too short, "flange" interferes with ID of hole in front air dam). Why Ferrari originally supplied hooks that don't fit is a mystery. I had intended to follow Steve's/Shamile's advice about ordering various PN 130993 hooks hoping to find one that fit.

While "browsing" at FerrParts I came across PN 155838, which shows as applicable for 360, F430, 456M, 458, and the Enzo. It is the correct thread size and pitch for an 88 (16 X 1,5mm), and the length is fine (RH photo 1). I bought a used one for a reasonable price, and there are a lot of the above applications around so they shouldn't be too hard to track down. Ricambi America currently lists them for $93.59. At that price a bargain for some, others will scoff, I only suggest it as an alternate if you don't want to A) buy aftermarket or B) make your own. Photo 2 shows it installed (fully threaded) on a TR.

Steve's right, there are multiple threads with different options, and he covers the details as only Steve can. Regardless, best of luck with whatever route you choose Robbie. Personally, I'm hoping mine never gets used....
