We've heard it repeated ad nauseum since the California was released. Turns out all the naysayers are wrong, very wrong. A new study by Edmunds shows that the California is number 5 when it comes to percent of male ownership, coming in at 88.4 percent. That's higher than the 911, GTR, Sierra, Ford F-Series, and the Corvette (ouch, that last one had to sting). The Italia was top dog with 95.3 percent.

    http://blogs.insideline.com/straightline/2012/03/the-list-10-models-with-the-highest-proportion-of-male-buyers-.html

Now let's hear from all the critics on how the study is wrong

Take a look at my blue with spacers post..... That is not a chick car at all. And honestly who cares. The car is a great piece of machinery and is a real work of art.

Compared to a 458, the California is a chick car ! Notice the big hips in the back. The study shows males own the car because they bought it for their women ! LoL, still wish I had one though, its all good !

The statistic will most certainly include Cali's bought for women by male owners. However, what is to say men don't also buy Porsches, Mercedes, Bentleys, etc for their wives/gf? There is no reason to suspect that men only purchase the Ferrari Cali for their women...

this is a common mistake made by those who avoided statistics 101 in college.

The 'chicks car' sure scared me(and pedestrians who heard it) when going for a ride. If you can ignore my reactions it's a pretty cool video of a ride I went for in a friends TDF Blue this past summer. Unfortunately, the naysayers still exist and will probably chime in with some false info eventually. It is a marvelous car.

But, the CA is has the highest female ownership percentage of any F model. On that level it has given Ferrari a new dimension and new customers.

It's no chick car. But, more females like it than the harder core sports cars.

BTW: I bet the CA is pretty close with the Aston Martin also. Our division head in HK has one and she loves it. She ordered it white on the outside and with dark purple leather interior. Definitely: CHICK!

If there were any Ferrari that was targeted for the Females---------it definitly was the Cali. This comes from Ferrari marketing, not me personally.

Its like here in America, the Mustang has the stigma of a womens/girls car for some reason which has incredible HP and looks to boot. But alot of guys drive them as well. Its just the way it is.

Do not question your own masculinity (unless it needs questioning and you live in San Francisco :)) based upon Ferrari's marketing plan that is in place.

I would not question the great boxer Mike Tysons masculinity just becuase his voice sounds like a young boys?

Yep, one of my best friend's has a Challenge Stradale. His modelesque wife and her sister were over at my crib and they asked my boy how come he didn't get the Cali instead? Haha

If I were single (which seems that is getting closer these days), I would have no problems driving the Cali.

When I drive my 997 turbo I get the womens compliments and interest. However, when I drive my Scuderia it gets the mens interest more than the womens.

I think Ashton Kutcher's got the right idea :)

I don't care. I think the Cali is the perfect Ferrari to drive everyday if you want top down motoring. I'd rock one.

I had an F430 spider and a Maserati Spider at the same time. I got FAR more compliments from women on the Maser than I ever did the F430.

It's kinda creepy sounding but if you want to meet a lot of little boys, buy a Ferrari 2 seat mid engine car. You can't shoe them away!
