It has just gone up for sale for $3.6 million, including all contents. One only wonders whats hiding in the workshop in the back and the underground garage!!

I read about this a few years ago....It used to be called "Citation Motors". It was a small privately owned BMW dealership in Oakville, in an old industrial area. When the 90's and 2000's came, BMW totally rennovated their 'brand', and consolidated many small dealerships around the country.

I think the owner is retired, and he owns the land and building as well as all the contents inside. Not too much important items left inside, looks like some junk and various 80's cars.

He probably held onto the land and building for years, waiting for the time is right to sell, as the real estate market is at its peak now.

Yes this is all correct from what I have read over the years. There is a very good and old thread on Max Bimmer that I follow. A couple of places closed after the old owners didnt wanna fork out the multi millions for new digs. Who else remembers Beach Auto? Cool old place in the Beach area (Or The Beaches for those in the 905). This place was a Bimmer enthusiasts dream. Real cars just lying around everywhere, race cars etc. I used to go there alot with my old E30.

Also, I wouldnt call those cars at Citation junk. Apparently they are still new and actually get dusted off and the air in the tires checked often ;)

I'd probably give my left one for that "brand new" M6! :D

EDIT: Just took a look. Helmut Kramer still has the dealer license active there! (All public info)

I love the old 5 series saloons, and the M6 is definitely a collectors item! I wonder if there is an M1 hiding in the basement?

Nevertheless...Mr. Kramer made a bad move in not upgrading his dealership, look at Mississauga BMW and Budds BMW..both hugely successful in the Mississauga and Oakville.

Unrelated sidenote: Just got word a few weeks ago that a new state of the art Porsche dealership is opening in Oakville next year.

Ive been out of the loop. But didnt Pfaff already have their hand in the Oakville area with a used car section?

Makes perfect sense, lots of money around there...

Hey Vasco....the new Porsche dealership is actually being developed by my neighbour. Their family owns a small dealership network in the GTA. (They live in TO, not Oakville).

I'm not sure about the specifics of the deal, but it is definitely not Pfaff or Downtown FC who got the Oakville location. IIRC it will be under construction soon, to be opened in 2012 or 2013.

Correct! They had Pfaff Oakville that changed names into Pfaff Outlet. That has now changed locations and is operating out of Woodbridge.

Pfaff did not get Oakville they have the Woodbridge location and the partnership in London.

Yes, as I said my neighbour is actually the dealer principal for the new Porsche Oakville location. It will be a fairly large, stand alone dealership on the south side of QEW. Maybe he can get me a deal on a new Cayenne Turbo S ?? :D

Porsche have finally gotten active and followed MB, BMW, Jaguar, LR and other luxury brands to the Oakville/Burlington/Hamilton corridor.

IMO, a Ferrari dealership is badly needed in this area as well, its only a matter of time.

The question is will it be a fully blown dealership or a boutique style like the Yorkville location.

May have been a rumour or pulled in the past then reinstated. I am going by the official OMVIC site. Anyone can visit and see that it is "registered"

    https://ewconsumers.omvic.on.ca/Profile/Dealer.aspx?PID=125219

Keep in mind that BMW pulling their rights to BMW is different than pulling their dealer license...

Citation was originally located in Oakville, on Speers Road and York just before Third Line.

I used buy my BMW parts from them in 76. They actually used to share the space with another maker ( I can't remember which Toyota or Datsun). I am also pretty sure that Helmut is the gentleman who helped me locate Ti Weber manifolds and a new crank for my 2002.

I recall that they were waiting for their new location to be built. Which is what is now being listed.
Helmut never really had any interest in selling off after what ever happened between him and BMW.

The M6 would make a nice time capsule though.

I think the white 6-Series is actually a 635CSi and not an M6. Either way, still something cool to have. I would love to know the mileage on those showroom cars and see where they end up.
