There are no official figures for almost every Ferrari production number = there are figures from 200 to 300 mentioned for the 360 Challenge

300 made, meaningless as most now are battered or smashed or written off, numbers still in existence is unknown, people get confused with stradale and CH
12 came to Australia from PHR 001 onwards.

There were a few others bought out later on.

Performance data is the same as per a road 360, the CS had greater HP output, CH cars were based on the road 360, CS was evolution of the species and to get rid of parts to make way for the 430

I had a list of 360 challenge cars brought in by Dancing Donkey race team. Computer died and took list with it. There were about 30 cars in period, not all stayed as there was a world market for them at the time. Production was limited and teams smashed them to bits constantly. Tight race schedules and parts shortages meant teams would buy replacement cars as they got smashed. Maybe 20 or so stayed here in period. More have come in recent years now they are dirt cheap.

mine was bought in by Ross Palmer Motorsport, I know of a few around and many have been abused somewhat.

Keith Wong has been trying to sell his for yonks and price has come down, my guess would be a 360ch is now at best 100k, or at worst for a roughy say 60-80k. I know we can get a 430ch landed in Aust for sub 150k now as the 458 is being used making the 430CH a relic.

Not that I want a 430CH......the single stud thing and from what I've read on here they dont handle as well as the 360CH

This is what i have also seen...

Goober from all the research ive been filtering through there seems to be cars scattered all over the place. Do you know a website that has most of these cars in the one place? Makes going through it easier to work out the best priced and suited car.

These are race cars, nothing more, nothing less. There is no website that tells all, its a matter of locating what you want and how much you want to pay. You can easily tear up 50-100k on a poor car.

First thing you have to work out is what is it that you want to race in? Then get the appropriate car. If you are hell bent on getting a 360CH registered then you are wasting your own time and everyone else's. There is zero provision in Aust to getting one registered unless it complies with ADR's. The notion it will be used under a rally type registration does not and will not wash with the authorities.
Just buy a 360CS and then go race or do whatever. A 360CH is a different beast and obtaining registration is nigh on impossible. Tasmania have tightened their rules, WA has even tighter rules.........forget what's been registered in the past, that's history, its the current rules that make things impossible.

Its like when the F40's become "allowable" under the 25 or 30 year rule......watch how many get registered......zilch. And if you do somehow get a 360CH registered dont have an accident because that's when the fun and games begin.

hahahah thanks goober. Dont worry i am investigating this in great depth before i pull any pin. Im also looking at whether a CS would be a suited option also.

Theres a few cars out there and a few local but its so hard to get a history of them and really can only rely on the sellers honesty.

If you were to look again, would you be looking at cars that have undergone a mechanical engine/ interior etc overhaul considering the cars are 10years old?? Or would a low km example be better?

I dont see the humour, what is evident is that you want the best available and want someone to provide you with all the details of 360 Challenge cars. Best bet, buy one then experiment. Or but Keith Wong's, its for sale on my105.com, I know the car, its quick had a few belts. When I bought mine, I looked at it over the internet, then bought it, didnt ask any questions because I knew it was an ex race car, but asking inane questions about them is useless.
    1. you need an SD2 to check the km on a challenge car.
    2. most challenge cars have had a whack because they are race cars
    3. An SD2 will give most of the information that you require.
    4. History means nothing for a race car, if they/ it were used in proper racing they would be driven to an inch of their life and if parts were required more often than not things were either fixed or just put back together to complete whatever race they were in.
    5. No one will give you a clear or precise PPI on a challenge car as the histories are clouded.

No humour at all mate, i understand your standpoint in regards to registrations use etc. The information that you have provided i am very much appreciative of as you have a huge amount of knowledge and resource..

I have little knowledge in this area so hence why i am tredding very slowly and asking insane or over the top/ stupid questions as i am not sure as what to expect. Most if not all of these cars are located interstate which makes it hard to get real life comparisons.

Thanks again, much appreciated, hopefully i wont bore too many with further questions and just take the plunge..

Road & Track Magazine published an article stating that the Ferrari 360 Challenge had built 274 cars.

PS. Now if I can only find a set of racing seats!
