I was looking at an F430 challenge on ebay. It was inspected by the local dealer in LasVegas and found to have the following issues:
One bank of cylinders not firing
    Leaky fuel pump
    Leaky F1 pump
    Engine rear main seal leaking
    Needs 4 rotors
    Leaky steering rack
Dash is warped and material is disintegrating
Seats have holes and major wear
    Wrong slick tires
Poor body work with visible lumps of filler and DA marks
Radiator support was broken from crash and fixed by screwing a plate
    Over damage instead of welding.
Missing many carbon fiber brake duct parts
Other pieces have been broken off and zip tied back on.
The list goes on. When I asked if they would disclose these issues to the next interested buyer, they responded by saying that the car will be sold AS IS.

Sounds like a car that's been raced. Makes some sense.

Big waste of your time and money not disclosing most of those issues.

Good thing you didn't drive out there to pick it up without a PPI. (Like I'm thinking of doing for a car I want in Long Island.)

I remember this car on ebay --- I was immediately turned off when the seller said the car was used as a promotional vehicle and also was used at various autocross events!!! talk about abusing a car, IMO an autocross is far worse than track time at an actual race track.

This is the car I am referring too

    zffex63x000151953

To quote the ad; the vehicle was acquired to serve as a display vehicle and to give high speed thrill rides to passengers in an autocross parking lot!!

So this car based on the serial.

It may be a great car for someone. Some of those items are not surprising for a car that raced in the challenge series. I would hope that your discovery during the PPI would be avail to any buyer.

Nothing wrong with being sold as is. Those issues with that 125k price seem like a mismatch. I've seen solid cars (that have raced / and been well maintained / without issues) at around 105k.

Due diligence is important... not sure if the owner is a member here that would like to comment from his perspective on the car's needs?

Car is now up on ebay with a BIN of 87.5k, which is probably much more realistic ---- although I would prefer a sorted car with some sort of spares package…… at a minimum an extra set of wheels.

Seller says 3 challenge events but I've seen pictures of the car with 5 tech stickers on the window. Mike Zoi drove it for FOCF in 2008.

Have an independent - such as Braden on Long Island - do a PPI for you. Ask me how I know...
