Thanks. The Elise is great, unfortunately it might have to go if the F-car happens for me. For the money I don't think you can beat it. The car weighs about 1900lbs. and has about 195hp, revs over 8000. The handling is sublime but the ride is quite still for our roads. Mine is still under break in so I haven't had a chance to wring it out but I drove a demo and the car is very quick. The only thing I can really compare it to is driving a Formula Ford but with a body on it. The steering is ultra quick and the wheel is tiny which reminds me of a kart. The main problem with the car which really makes it only an occasional toy or track car is that it's very difficult to get in and out of. The sill height is high and the sill itself is pretty wide. Once inside you are sitting on the floor with little padding on the seats. Thankfully the seats are wide enough for the typical American Male physique. There is plenty of room for 6+ footers but the pedal box area is small. I had to get a special pair of narrow shoes as my size 12s were braking and gassing at the same time. The dead pedal is about the size of a small cell phone. I'm impressed with the quality of materials and the fit and finish, far better than I would have imagined for an english car. The reliability should be there as well with the Toyota sourced engine and gearbox. The car comes with A/C (works well) and a pretty good sound system as well. I have heard that the cars are turning in the 57 second range at Lime Rock bone stock. If true, that's amazing. Lotus definitely has a hit with this car.
I'd like that. FWIW, most people think the car is a Ferrari so maybe I can just blend in with you guys. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow, it does look a bit like a Ferrari-one that's been left in the dryer a bit too long! ;-0! Great car John

The Z8 is Silver with the Red Interior. It's a regular Z8 but with the Alpina wheels. Here's a link to a pic since the pic I posted of the Elise came out all grainy. http://www.camptownauto.com/cars/Z8/1_4_05a.jpg
Great looking car. The Z8 is a sweet automobile. Good luck with your collection and hopefully we will see eachother at an event. I am in Central NJ as well.
