Car based on a Testarossa for the Sultan (pic)

I just found this pic.
I'm sure some have already seen it.

It was designed by Enrico Fumia and based on a Ferrari Testarossa. Only six were built, all for the Sultan of Brunei.

But why is it called the F90. (k5mcl, I'm sure you know)

God thats Fugly. The front is nice but from there back it looks like a Citroen built for the Jetsons

I'm sure this has been brought up before, but why does the Sultan of Brunei need six of everything? Is it so he can look down his nose at other Sultans who only order five of each?

I don't think the Sultan really " needs " anything. He gets anything he wants the old fashioned way, he buy's it!!! Including women.
And yes the guy has really bad taste in cars, but who really cares anyway?
His one redeeming quality though is that he has really good taste in women.

Unfortunately, that car was recently destroyed when the Sultan reversed out of a parking space too aggressively & the body simply peeled apart like an onion

 

I believe this was designed by Fumia in 1988, so close to 1990. And the F is for Fumia....

 

I read somewhere that the Sultan, his brother, nephews, and others are all car enthusiasts (with questionable taste), and that's the reason why he buys in bulk quantities.... I guess it's good to be related to the Sultan.

 

Anyone can have good taste in women if they have more money then ever imagine, just look at Donald Trump.

I'll be waiting for the day when his country starts to fall out of "wealth" once the oil starts to dry up (and I guess in that nation, it's within the next 30 years or so). My guess would be that if Ferrari is going to do one, they might as well do 5 or 6, sell them all at the same price and lower their costs.

That being said, does this guy just sit around and think of ways to blow money all day? At this point there's almost a whole Ferrari model range devoted to this chump..

The sultan doesn't really have taste. Its his nephew (?) who has the huge collection. I don't have time to go into it all now but lets say right now he's in court and owes his country billions. Most of the cars are (and have been for a while) pretty much "lost". Some trickle out, but most will stay in Brunei to rot.

 

According to the new garage list, the Sultan owns six of these vehicles!!

It may looks ugly...but it does have some similarities to that of the newly designed Dino on F-CHAT Design Process page.The similarities include the side profile and front. The rear is just from another galaxy...
