Nice looking Boxer.... Except for the god awful wheels and window tinting.

Sorry.. I just don't like that look.

From the rear shot, it looks like it's running straight pipes directly from the headers though, that's cool! :)

The owner is a race car driver and the wheels are 18" BBS which are some of the best wheels you could buy and they make the car handle much better. The tint well, thats your opinion. She still has the original wheels.

If her car was sitting next to your car, I would definitely pick her Boxer over yours.

BTW, that's not her only Ferrari

The owner is a friend and I don't see why you need to make negative comments. Maybe it makes you feel good.
Don't be mad just because her Boxer makes yours look dull. On the track or the street her Ferrari would tear yours up.

TexasMike: I hate getting involved, but reality should rule. The owner of the Boxer you speak of is really a great lady. But YOUR comments are the ones that started the negativity. She has a nice car, so does Gary Reed.

We would all be fortunate to have either one. Hell, I want both, and I already have a Boxer.

    Then don't.
He edited his post where he basicly called me an as$ hole so, maybe you should know what you are talking about before you get involved.

I simply stated that I like hers better after he said negative comments about it.

    Mike,

I was referring to myself, not you, since I was the one with the comment/opinion.

I'm sorry about my harsh comment regarding the wheels. I should have kept my thoughts to myself.

I apologize to you and the lady who owns that Boxer.

Hmmmm.... that negative comment statement is followed by, two negative comments.

I for one agree with Gary on the wheels and the tint. Just because the wheels are nice doesn't mean they you should use them. This is a forum: b : a public meeting place for open discussion c : a medium (as a newspaper) of open discussion or expression of ideas. Not a cheer leading camp. Not everyone is going to mirror your tastes and opinions. You'll find plenty of opinions and dissentions within this site.

It doesn’t help your argument when you contradict your own statements (above) and basically take the position of “my friend’s dollies are better than yours!”

They both are wonderful cars in their own way. The important thing is that both owners like their own cars. What you and I think about them really doesn’t matter. But, we do have the right to state those opinions here in this forum.

I simply stated that I would take her car over his. For what ever reason he thought he upset me. He didn't, I was just replying to his comments.
Her car would tear his up on the street or the race track. Thats not a negative comment, it's a fact. So just one negative comment.
It's cool, if people want to talk sh*t about the cars I post, thats fine. Just don't expect me to not respond.

He said he wasn't talking about me with the As$-hole comment so, I guess the rest was just a misunderstanding.

BTW, I didn't say that I don't like Gary's car. I just like the other one better.

    Gary,
I'm not asking you to keep your comments to yourself.
Say what you want. I personaly thought "God Awful " made it sound a bit harsh. Who cares, it's over with. Let's get back to posting Boxers.

I've noticed the Texas Boxer for sale a few places for awhile, my advice would be to put the OE wheels on if you want to sell it and get a good price for it, the techno lower profile wheels look out of place on a early 70s design and add to the wheel gap Boxers already have, other than that it looks nice.

    Good advice.
Different people want to sell cars for different reasons.
She wants to sell it but, doesn't mind if she doesn't.
She has owned the car for 22 years so she is very attatched to it. I personaly hope she doesn't sell it. I'm in love with it and don't want to see it leave Austin.

Owning a car for 22 years and selling it I think would cause great regret, its more than just a car more like a family member, especially a rare car like a Boxer. If the Boxer is how she wants it to be good for her, I think I read she has the OE wheels as well so no big deal anyway. Boxer buyers are typically not looking for the best performance Ferrari for the price, more of a vintage mindset for just having a fun driving experience which is what I have.

Yes, it's not a car, she is Fannie. She has only seen rain three times in her life and that was only by accident. She has had the tender loving care that only a woman can provide.
While she might not be the fastest Ferrari, I had a blast in her. She will be the Ferrari that I remember the best. She was my first experience in a Ferrari and she was plenty fast for me.

This lady is all about performance. If the OEM wheels handled better, she would have them on it.

The owner of the Texas Boxer is offering the original wheels with the car, it is in incredible pampered yet driven condition, and she should sell it for personal reasons that are none of our business. All maintenance is up to date, it looks like things were fixed before they were broken. This is likely the best "driver" Boxer available.

The car looks good with the BBS's, the car would look good with the original wheels, personal opinion. I personally do not like the Boxer black belly paint. I had an adjustable suspension put on my Boxer to lower it, and I am considering BBS's along with a few other wheels. Won't make everyone happy, but it will make me happy when I am finally done.

Guess that is why car manufacturers got away from Ford's old idea of "any color as long a it is black".
