If every F-Chatter kicked in $53 we could get one!
Lawrence Stroll (err...entrepreneur/silent partner at Ferrari of Quebec) Guy Laliberté (owner of Cirque du Soleil)
Mr. Carty Beal who also owns the McLaren F1 talked about here often that is being painted red to match his Enzo.
I met Sergei through Scotty Bowman in the Red Wings locker on two occasions in 2002. His daily car--winter and spring, was his reliable 456M GTA, which he unfortunately totalled sometime in June 2003. I saw this car both before and after the mishap. I also saw his yellow Enzo the day I took delivery of my new 456M GT in May '03. Now, this very Enzo is back on the dealer's floor, awaiting the next owner who will have to pay Sergei's price of over $1 million. I was told his next Ferrari will be one of the Formula 1 racers that the company sells to customers for (also) in excess of $1 million. And all of this during a "hockey lockout" and cancellation of an entire pro-season.
Arrwin... if you research Jay Leno and his collection, you will quickly learn that he does not own any Ferraris, at least not any modern ones. He is quoted many times as saying he does care for the brand, which I believe has to do with their dealer network's snobbish habits. He does love his Lambos and one-offs though. Very cool guy, and outstanding collection.
Greg, That was my suspicion, as I have never seen him drive any modern Ferraris (not to say that I know every car he drives). I know he owns a CGT, so I was curious if he owned the Enzo as well. Thanks for the clarification.
JAY LENO IS AN A**. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FERRARI DEALERS. I HAVE MET HIM AFTER A FEW COMEDY SHOWS AND HE LOVES TO PUT DOWN MODERN FERRARI'S. HE WON'T GIVE ANY REASONS OTHER THAN THE PRICE AND THE F1 SYSTEM. RIP BEN & COREY
I never have had the opportunity to meet Fedorov like yourself but I have always heard that he is a cool guy. Even though Fedorov didn't make one cent this past year from playing hockey he more than made up for it in 1998. Fedorov signed a front loaded contract( 6 years/$36 million). The Red Wings matched the Carolina Hurricanes offer that included a huge bonus if the team Fedorov was playing for made it to the conference finals and then another bonus if the Wings one the cup(which the Wings won of course). So essentially, Fedorov made approximately $26 million for 4 1/2 months of work. Not too shaby. Definitely the most insane amount of money a hockey player has made in one season. Fedorov continued to make $10 million over the final 5 years of that contract. There are so many great stories about Fedorov sharing his Enzo with the public especially in Michigan. Like you said it is for sale now. Yet even when he owned it, he often left at Cauley so the public could go look at it. He is a class guy and when he left for Anaheim I was pretty upset. Like I have said before he can be the best hockey player in the world when he wants to be.
Carbon, It was mentioned here that it might be his. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=50530&highlight=Celebrity+Focus
i wouldnt think that ralph lauren would ever own an enzo. i saw his collection on display in Boston, and most of the cars were older. he likes the older cars with historical significance more than modern supercars. the only modern supercar he owns is the mclaren f1, and he has THREE.
Simmer down fanboy. Let's assume for the moment you are right. So we have a guy who clearly has enough money to afford what they are asking, has a pretty good understanding and love for automobiles, chooses not to get one, AND supposedly gives you reasons for him not wanting it, and that makes him an @$$? Damn that difference of opinion, what's it doing to the world?!?! And for the record Leno and his reasons for not liking Ferraris have already been discussed in depth here in at least one dedicated thread. Search is your friend. Now please go pleasure yourself to an enzo or zonda poster and leave the posting to people who have something moderately meaningful to say. Thanks.
Just out of curiousity, do any of you know if Michael Jordan owns an Enzo or any other super ferraris? Because ive seen him driving quite a few different ferraris on tv including a red TR, a black 512 TR and a red 550... seems like he has a passion for ferraris too..
Yes...Tommy Hilfiger's daughter had her own reality show and on it, her dad went to the dealership to pick up his Enzo. While there he asked the dealer if Ralph Lauren got one and he said "no". Tommy was surprised that Ralph didn't get one. While doing paperwork or whatever, his daughter sat in a 575 or somthing (don't remember) and she was commenting on how cheap the interior looked. They didn't look like Enthusiast at all. He just wanted the Enzo for status. Of course he also owned several other Ferraris, previously.
He's been driving an SLR of late. He had a red 550 Barchetta in addition to red, yellow, and black 550/575s, a black 456, and some others (in additions to the ones you mentioned). I've heard him say Ferrari is his favorite make before, but when we out here in Washington he drove his Aston Martins most often (he had a black DB7 Volante and a tungsten silver Vanquish), but also had a handful of Ferraris and other cars with him.
