lol I just love how the power ballad's playing while he's driving that monster. The contrast is priceless. Did top gear run the enzo yet?

I think Porsche could have gotten $600k+ for it if they only made 400 of them. They're making 1,500 of them though. Hence, only $450k sticker.

Maybe someday you'll take off your Schumie jammies and join the real world with true auto enthusiasts that don't judge cars based on their badge. The Carrera GT is quite possibly the most impressive vehicle available today. The guys at Top Gear test many, many, many cars every year. I have never seen them react to any car like they have with the CGT.

Porsche is planning to cut production to 1,250 from 1,500 (according to my sources FWIW) and is apparently investigating outstanding orders at dealers for those cars that do not have a "genuine" customer attached to them.

Supply and demand is taking hold gentlemen. All hail the free market forces......

On another note I showed the video to a client of mine yesterday that I am trying to put into a CGT (we passed on a $850K Enzo....too much $$ loss in the inevitable depreciation) and he feels that these cars will be under $300K USD inside of 12 months.

I for one do not disagree.

Just curious, but where did you find an Enzo for 850k? Was the car previously crashed, because the market for the Enzo has been well over 950k, from what I have seen lately.

Wow! I wouldn't have thought the depreciation curve would be this steep Kds. Production IS being cut to 1,250. Porsche has publicly indicated that.

No question about it - the Carrera GT is a car from God!

It's really hard to say I do agree, but I will go with my gut for now merely because after two years out of the showroom the higher end P-cars have a history of losing 35% of their value from MSRP.

Some cars have been offered in the $370-380 ish range already.........and as they get "used" things like $5K+ USD PCCB rotors (that's per corner so it's probably a $25K USD brake job) start to rear their ugly heads and effect values. Rightfully or wrongly.....it's perception.

My client burped $100K CAD on a GT2 over two years (I now own it and it's for sale on F-ads) and he didn't pay over MSRP for it either..........that factor also plays into people's mindset a little bit I think.

I love the car and think it's a winner hands down......except at resale time if your name is the first one in the book.....

If this is the case, then why would anyone go out an spend the crazy mark-up on a Ford GT or a F-430? These cars are in two completely different leagues.

Regardless of your bias', the CGT is a phenomenol drivers car. I could not think of owning a more fun and demanding car. Does the CGT has the traction controll bells & whistles that the other exotics have? If so, why was the car so difficult to keep on the track?

    Thanks for your feedback.

    Brad.....

In answer to your question, I have no idea why anyone would pay way over MSRP for any of these cars.........except that they have waaaaay too much money and an ego that needs to be satisfied. More power to 'em I say since I have only the ego and not the money......heh.

I have no bias against the CGT as I previously stated.....I think it is the best supercar out there today......but for the money they are asking right now and the comparative performance figures I'd still buy a GT2 instead, and put the other remaining $200K+ in the bank until they drop to under $300K.

Interesting post from 2 years ago. I was in the same boat but it looks like we were wrong. They are still firm at a little over $300k and they dont seem to go any lower.

My opinion is that there are more competition in the 250-350 atmosphere now which arent limited editions ..
