I beg to differ. Ultimately, the guy holding the keys has more control over the situation in the end. Sort of like blaming Smith & Wesson for a shooting when actually the idiot pulling the trigger has all the control.

luckily the Australian Federal Government brought in tough gun laws to decrease the risk of people getting killed by firearms after what happened in Port Arthur , Tasmania.....do you remember...35 killed by one f**kwit ???

err... if the guns aren't around then is the chance of getting shot and killed decreased?????

i have heard a saying come out of the US of A...guns don't kill people , people kill people

with a saying like that i am happy living here , not there

Wow. So in Austraila, the guns kill people all by themselves? No input required?

I guess I'm glad I live here. When you have tough gun laws, all you do is disarm the law abiding populus. Criminals will figure out how to get guns and the good guys will be disarmed.

i have a question. some of us in australia believe people in america think that rather than try and remove as many guns as possible , the answer is to issue everyone with a gun for self protection.
    is this correct?
i don't know what the figures are for gun related deaths in the US vs australia % based on population .
    can anyone add further ?

Everyone wants the car to weigh less. Then when there is an accident everyone wants the car to be safer have a stronger roll cage system or structural body. You can't have everything in your car just like in life.

I don't think it is a design flaw at those speeds any car would have been totaled in the same way. It is just not plausible to design the car for crashes at the high of a speed.

Scud your a moron. The manufacturer didn't make the car capable of 330KM/H so that idiots such as yourself could endanger themselves and others on public roads.
There is a reason track days are held. If you want to drive that fast, I suggest you go to a track. Racetracks are engineered for high speeds, and that is exactly what your Porsche was made for. Not to hit that speed on public roads.

Now that thats off my chest....

My condolences to the family of the driver. Thats a terrible shame that he died. Sadly, he was just as much of a moron as Scud.
driving at high speeds comes with its consequenses. Either this man didn't consider that, or didn't value his life enough to care.
    Sad really...

listen pimple boy... i am a track junkie if you ever bothered to read some of my posts..i don't think moron is the right word to use....there is a discussion taking place and different views are being expressed...we will all have a different opnion which is fine until someone like you f**ks it by name calling of which i don't give a **** on your opinion of me....did porsche make a car capable of 300 +for track days???? i don't think so. your last paragraph sounds like words or wisdom...at 21 you have a lot of learning to do

    Scud,
I think your missing the point i was trying to make earlier. and others

You said the guy fcuked up, you were lucky that at 330 you didnt sneeze, or have a quick bout of diarehha(sp?). If that would have happened, you could have been the stat also.

To your point of take it up with the manufacture, I dont think they will make the payments to your family when your gone in case of an accident.

The difference today by you and the guy in the Enzo is "LUCK".

Whether you wish to except it or not is fine. I will say the same thing to you as I did to CMY, lets agree to disagree.

But i want you to remember one thing, if you ever(god forbid) get in a wreck like this topic we are discussing...and I sincerly mean GOD FORBID. There will be some a$$ on ferrair chat calling you a moron....or too bad the guy ***ced up....thats all im saying.

At the end of the day we are all skin and bones, rich or poor we all end up in a box to rot.

    Goodspeed !!

But as already mentioned this guy in the Enzo was doing 256kmh in a 80 zone - and as you can see there was a right-hander just before the point of impact.

When scud and the rest of us were in Alice Springs, the 300+ runs were done on long flat straights (with no speed limit) when there was minimal traffic around.

So in my eyes that would make the ones who chose an appropriate road (and spent a fair bit of money to get there) to do it the smart ones - and the guy who chose to do 3+ times the speed limit in Italy the [insert your description here]. ;)

Oh and scud actually went an indicated 332kmh - but the photographer was too slow. :D

Based on this point then, you can explain this theory to the mother that lost a child crossing the street when the light was green and the car that hit the child slipped because the ashphalt was a bit greasy and the car was well below the speed limit and braking but a malfuction happened.

Once again, my original point was that dead is dead, and to justify the pain to a family member that his there loved one was a knob because he was doing 256 in 80 is little comfort. Everyone makes mistakes, and even when you dont think one is likely it could still happen.

Therefore, pay your respects and call it a grave mishap, and show sorrow as a good person and illustrate respect, as opposed to "yeah I did it in a controlled environment, look at me" "Pounding chest, im smart he wasn't".

I cant stand the comments made about he messed up, and that he should have known better. Or in Darth 550 s comment, glad his dead.We all make mistakes, just some of us dont get caught !

    Cheers m8.

It perhaps is more compliciated than what it first appears. I have seen a 360 Challenge car (or was it a GT?) that crashed at Sebring. I forget how fast he was going, but it was in tripe digits. Basically, every thing was gone except for the CF tub. The driver broke his legs.

In this case, I doubt that that a tube frame would have made much difference in the final result. At that speed, hit something without a roll cage and a Han device, and you're dead.

gain some maturity ans realize that the guy probably lost his life in this horrific crash. if you died in an accident what would you think if some punk little kid (im assuming by the language used that you are in fact a kid. if i assumed incorrectly, then even more sorry to you) thought "wow that napster dudes an idiot!" please realize that there is more to life (and in this case, death) than just being stupid, if that in fact was a factor.

anyways, my condolences to his family and friends. Godspeed

Maybe if one of those poor inocent 35 people had been properly trained and armed or if one of those who were killed by Colin fergerson on the LIRR armed they could have done what had to be done. Instead they did all they could... hide under their seats and wait to die. There will be many offended by this. But I can see no wrong in protecting yourself or your family.

You can see the path of dstroyed vegetation came out from the wooded area in the left side of the photo, and a street sign facing the road ahead...but behind the ruined car. Apparently he must have gone left of center on a 4 lane divided highway, and gone through the wodded area...probably broadsided a tree or something, had the car shred into two, and then have the ruins fly out into the oncoming traffic's share of the road.

Given the circumstances...it's really not surprising that the car broke in two. Trees don't move when they get hit -- and to be honest I'm almost 100% sure that's what must have happened.

your post is offensive and disgusting....you should of been the guy in the enzo....when does your turn in iraq start so you can kill with your weapons???? i have heard there are lot of trigger happy boys eager to kill the enemy , when is it your turn ? in your eyes i guess each child should carry a gun to school and kill the looney who comes in and starts spraying bullets????

lucky we don't have to worry about that in australia . why ? because firearms are hard to come by.

i notice your interests include shooting...nuff said
