I'm assuming you have dynos that back your claim up right?

Posting German Dynographs would be a start.

There must have been a dyno tune used to arrive at the standard program, correct? Something must shown the HP and TQ gains the ECU upgrade claims to produce, eh?

I agree, I fine it difficult to understand how a manufacturing company trying to sell a product to people with $150,000 to $300,000 cars can't provide ANY Quantifiable third party written proof of the validity of the product they are attempting to sell.

The saying “if you build it they will come” does not apply to people’s $300,000 cars

This is not a community of civic owners! IMHO

yes i do but im not trying to sell anything here buddy.. I have custom headers dyno proven with a slight exhaust leak and it still made 16hp...I am not claiming anything. There are at least 10 people that have seen my car here and know I don't talk sh..it I do...sh..it and prove sh..it

I think you misunderstood my statement. What you are claiming is that the Eurotek ECU doesn't add hp because you haven't seen dynos that show they do. What I'm asking is do you have a dyno that proves the Eurotek unit does not add hp?

    Otherwise you're just contradicting yourself.

I'm glad your custom headers added 16hp. I'm well aware of the hp headers can add. But that wasn't my concern.

    Regards,
    Kevin

I think Ferrari guys are too bz with business to have dyno work done. Either that or people are scared of the types of guys running most dynos. I know plenty of scratches were left on my last car from the dyno guys. Not to mention the interior...

    Hopefully someone will find time.
There is so much of a gain claimed by the EuroTek that I may have to find/make time myself.

    come on.
what u just asked him is if he had a dyno chart of an Eurotek ecu'ed car.
if u do not even have one or the creators of Eurotek, why would he?

I'm well aware that he most likely does not have a dyno that proves Eurotek chips don't add the hp that they claim they do. Which is why I believe he shouldn't make the same claims he's dogging Eurotek for making.

Send me an email with the application you want a dyno for and I'll have it forwarded to you.

Kevin. Look 2 of my friends have called them and said that they would like to see dyno proven results...EuroTec said OK I am sending them over now.. and then they never sent them or called him back or returned any of his phone calls.. Even here I read that they will dyno a car if one is given to them and they have excuse after excuse...your to far your to close..Give Me a Brake..Show me a US dyno proven car and someone that I trust here not a guy who has put on his salesman hat on and is boasting about them. A well known guy here who would swear buy them and I will Buy them..euro dynos are testing euro cars and the euro cars are proven to be faster out the box anyway. No pre_cat in the header system timing and so on..

Actually I am having my ECUs flashed by a race specialist that has a direct connect with bosh. I said as long as I dyno my car and it makes the power he claims then I will spread the word .. If it makes no power I will kill You and not pay you a cent.. He agreed and will be flying here in 2 weeks time to do a proper flash and dyno.

Guys give it a rest please.
Good ECU tuning DOES work, subject to better quality fuel being used and proper maps written to take advantage of it.
Ferrari's are mapped to use 93-95RON (91 US I think) fuel. I can buy 100RON (94-95 US) at the service station in Australia. With the higher octane you can use more ignition advance and get better power. Ferrari runs extremely rich by design at the top end, so leaning out the high rev/WOT fuel mixture also produces more power, it is quite simple really.
My only concern is for the cost of this software, you would expect a custom map made specifically for the customers car. When dyno tuning with Powerchip for example, the programmer plays with the ignition advance until detonantion is reached and power starts dropping off. From there the advance table is backed off a touch. The same thing occurs with air fuel ratios. For $500-$1000 I expect canned software, which is a copy of the map used for a similar car. For $3K+ I expect the guys to do the job individually on my car, to my specs. As I have posted earlier, in Aust I can replace the Ferrari ECU's and run a piggyback MOTEC system for around 6K installed and tuned.

    thats stupid logic.

if you are selling a product that claims a gain, YOU should provide proof for that gain. if not, then nothing is wrong for others to assume the gain might not exsit.

its like i can claim i have a Enzo and a MC12 in my garage, just because you can not come up with a picture of my garage with only a honda civic in there, it does not mean i really have the Enzo and MC12.

most of people who are interested in the modifying ferrari's have been hearing this for a LONG Time. do you know how much business eurotek will have IF they just had a dyno?? but yet, interestingly, there has NEVER been one available.

now days numbers talks BS walks, even honda tuning people show dyno for a $150 cold air intake. for a ferrari ecu remap that costs thousands, it would be very normal for buyers to request one, and it should be a BASIC proof a tuner is willing to offer without even being asked, and YET THERE WAS NEVER ONE. funny, huh??

These Ferrari motors/ECU's all have knock sensors that retard on ping right?

I can't say for 550 for sure, but 360 knock sensors work perfectly.

550 use the same sensor too, but the management is different.

stephens you are correct im not saying that ecu remapping cant be done because challenge cars are remapped already I am just saying unless you have a In at bosch you are not going to remap the car..So of course race tecs can brake into the system but uero tec are claiming it when they have no proof.. Thats all Im saying...

Challenge cars have the exact same power and map as a road car, they just have the second lambda sensor warning turned off.

I don't know about Eurotec, but there are ECU programs that make more power than std, but usually from higher rpm which I think is too stressful for the conrods and pistons.

God, thank you for saying that.
Twisting these things up to 9k and beyond on a regular basis is just going to blow up a bunch of motors.

Ferrari went to titanium rods to make them (V8's) 10kRPM motors but after experimenting for a while they thought better of it and set the rev limiters at 85 for a reason.

You can buy the equipment to do this out of Italy. Anyone can do it, for a while I did it myself.

Eurotek's ad in Forza, as well as their website, claims more power from standard RPM ranges.

I used to be very sceptical, but I have very reliable information and private data that wetterauer software works very well, within std rpm, but they also raised the rpm limit on the car I have data for, BUT, it still makes more power under many circumstances within std rpm.

Much of the gain comes from clever management of the throttle actuation, variable inlet system, variable cam timing, NOT just fuel and timing.....

On "my" car, the rpm limit was raised as a standard procedure, but it actually helps a little on track because you can avoid bouncing on the limiter, which possibly does more damage at 8700 than revving to 8900 unlimited.

I have first hand experince of 360 engine failures from conrod and piston failure, but these are race cars and a road car I'm sure wouldn't fail so quickly, just eventually......

Too much debate in this thread. For the time being I'm going to stay out of it. My goal is by the end of April to get dynos in the U.S. done that are going to be videotaped before and after with no other variables besides the Eurotek ECU. I've been putting it off lately due to alot of other projects and lack of time but if people will make a 7 page thread about it, I'll get something done.

My last post in this thread, just contact me privately if you have any questions, I have no intentions of opening this thread up until I have a car dyno'd.
