    Dave, I thought ABS was an option on model year '88.5 cars... and standard on '89s? Are you saying ABS was not offered until the US '89 model year was introduced (i.e.: Sept/Oct '88 production date)? Maybe they were referring to late '88 Euro cars?

    I have read in more than one place that ABS was optional on Euro cars when the new suspension was adopted (roughly #76600) but was not available in US until 89 model year. Production probably began in 10/88 on these, so given the Euro system of using production dates for model years, there is some overlap. However, 78043 mentioned above would defintiely been an 88 had it been a US car. I keep hearing of 88 US cars with ABS, but when investigated, the owners were always mistaken or it was an 89 MY built before 1989.

    Dave, it would be interesting to start a thread and see if there are any '88 US cars with ABS. You'd probably get a lot of Euro guys responding stating they have it... but the key is US '88 MY. Then find out when they were produced.

    It's a little hard to tell from Tillman's list exactly when US '88 production stopped and '89 began... although the overlap in VINs could all be Euro cars?

    What you're saying makes sense. When cars were described as MY '88.5, they may have been referring to the beginning of the '89 US production run... when the Euro cars were still classified as MY '88.

    Edit: Nope... because then you have the convex wheel issue and these were also classified as '88.5 MY... and as we know, many of those did not have ABS. Who knows??? Looking back a few years, I guess we should have asked two more questions in the original 328 Register thread:

    1) Do you have convex wheels?
    2) Do you have ABS?

    Oh well. :)

    According to Ferrari, the big suspension revision with convex wheels began with #76626. However, as in all things Ferrari, nothing is set in stome even when they say so. The 328 in Forza's buyer's guide was 76647 and most defintely did not have the new suspension and wheels!

    Your idea is a good one. Have every one who owns a car between say 76000 and 78800 state whether they have convex wheels and ,if so, ABS. If they state they do have ABS, show us a pic of the indcator light on the dash. I think 88's have been sold claiming to have ABS when they did not and the new owner never knew the difference.
