Hey Guys, Wanted to let you all know I found seven boxes of Performance Friction 90 compound pads in 25mm thick for the 355 challenge. These are great pads for beginning to intermediate drivers as they come on quick (temp wise) and modulate very well. Very easy on the rotors as well. We will be listing them here for F-chat guys before they go on our site in the online catalog. Anything in 25mm thick for these cars is getting difficult to locate. Price will be $235 per box. PM me with your interest. Thanks, Martin Girodisc
^^^ He's right. I hunted down those big fat pads for a customer in Europe a while ago. They are monsters. I don't stock them, and have no real plans to carry them in inventory.
I thought I would mention I found 1 box of 83 compound as well in 25mm thick. If any one is interested... Martin
Hi Martin, What color are these pads? Are they the pads used by the challenge drivers back in 97? How many boxes do you need for four wheels? Is 25mm the 'normal' size challenge pad? Would they fit the challenge brake system without adjustment? Thanks. Green9
Here's the no help reply. Not sure what they used in the original series. I don't know what "color" they are, they are just dark grey looking like most pads. If you are refering to Pagid's color system "orange", "blue", "yellow" etc. then you are confused as these are PFC brand. They are 25mm and are the exact size for the 355 challenge calipes with no mods required. You need one box per axle, thus two boxes for a whole car. OK, maybe that was some help... Martin
give you an idea about the pad we are talking about: 90 Compound – 90 was developed at the same time as 93 and is very similar with lower torque output. It also has a higher wear rate under severe service. This pad gives three times the pad and rotor life, ultimate torque close to 93. Its modulation characteristics also make it forgiving. Cold bite comes in at 100 degrees and has an effective torque curve over 1000 degrees.
