Does anyone happen to know which year Mondial Cab was used in the filming of Scent of a Woman with Al Pacino. The movie was released in 1992 but that doesn't mean that the Mondial was a 1992.
    Great movie. Just curious.
    Thanks,
    Ron

Yeah, that line always annoyed me. They managed to leave out the word "Mondial" in the movie. I loved the Ferrari salesman though!

Me too! Simon, you are one lucky guy to own one of those beasts. Sadly, I don't think I will ever be able to afford an F40. It's my ultimate dream car. I would prefer an F40 over any other Ferrari of the past or present including the Enzo.

    Officer Gore: Who's the kid?
Colonel: My boy, Charlie. He wanted me to let it out.
What was I supposed to do, disappoint him?
    Officer Gore: Yes!
Tell you what I'm going to do, Colonel. I'm
going to let you go, under one condition.
    Colonel: What's that?
Officer Gore: You take this rig right back to the dealer.
    Charlie: You, you got it!
    Colonel: Shut-up!
Officer Gore: Want this (handing the license back to the Colonel)?
Colonel: Gore, your face and your voice look familiar.
Ever been to the Officer's Club?
    Officer Gore: No.
Colonel: Ever been in the Army?
    Officer Gore: No. Coast Guard!
    Colonel: Good Lord!
Officer Gore: (Chuckling), your Dad is looking good, Charlie.

re: Scent of a Woman -- Do you think F-car salesmen really pocket thousands in cash bribes for a test drive?

salesmen ...actor ....difference? But is the movie image of the arrogant snooty f-car salesman correct? I think not in my experience (except at auto shows..) but it worked well in the script and was a funny scene.

the difference is it makes it more interesting/realistic if they use real people instead of actors.

the Mondial t cab used in the film I recall was a 91. It was also fitted with the Valeo auto clutch system. It was also the FNA press car used for all the promotion. unfortunatly I do not recall the vin#.

I guess they are advertising it as THE one in the movie. How much more are they asking for it because of its history?

    Gore: Not at 75MPH
colonel: you should hear her at one hundred twenty.

The one on the FoSF website is a 1990 with a five speed. If the one from Scent of a Woman (1991 with Valeo) is at FoSF they are not advertising it. Wouldn't you want to buy the Scent of a Woman car in a second at $48K?

Unlikely to have had Valeo clutch in 1989.
