I have fitted a carbon fibre roof and spoiler to a 1986 328 GTS because I needed more head room and this roof gave me about one inch more and solved my problem.

Not a real problem to fit, probably took about 4 hours because you have to transfer fittings from existing to new and fit rubber seals.

The roof and spoiler came out of Japan but the contact was through America.

Cost about Australian dollars $3500 I think, but I found it worth the cost.

    Contact is [email protected]

steve, I saw that one on ebay and it was even in the pic a really bad warped fit... when these old tops go bad, they really do and they can leak and rattle. like always buyer beware

Wasn't it Saratoga in Florida, USA?

    Out of production for years.

I have experience heat forming plexi and it would be possible for improper storage to render one unusable, IMO.

Let's see if Pilkington or someone will make some fresh ones, out of real glass!

great news; please make sure they fit ( don't know how you'll do that though.) allt he cars have subtle differences and are not "square- if that is the word) and over the years all flexed a little differently oh so slightly but he problem is the saratoga tops never fit ( if they ever did new) since fitting tot he individual car is tough, yes teh rubbers are thick and do take up some spacing but I fit three saratoga tops and tthe best of them still leaked pretty bad.

Does anyone know if a 328 roof will fit a 308 GTS?

Part numbers are the same (61128700); so it should fit.

"should fit" they should be interchangeble and are sold as such but I found mix tops from different models can be problematic the leading edge does not seat flush down and tends to "peak up" a lbit or the passenger side does not seat square on the a-post (YMMV) . there is also a very limited amount of adjustment on a "s" roof. Interesting, when a Saratoga top on ebay is sold with a pic of it on a car....it does not sell or goes for under 200 or so...when the auction just shows the top and NOT fitted to a car...well guess what... there was a auction recently that showed the top on a car...big visible gaps.

it is weird and frustrating...some fit most don't....even the OEM tops which should all be interchangeble are not...I guess only get them if you can fit them to your specific 3x8 first and get your money back if not.

Nice, does anyone know if the one on ebay is the same 328 warped one that has been making the ebay rounds...(wouldn't it be great if parts had a serial # registry just like cars or airplane parts)

One just sold on eBay today for $610 + $125 shipping.

Personally, I'll wait and see the tops that FerrariFrank1 is talking about and hope that the fit is better than that of the Saratoga tops I have seen.
