Awesome. Samsung D900. Came out a few weeks ago. Isn't avaliable in the US and probably will never be (at least not for a long time). This thing is THIN. I haven't had a chance to fiddle around with the camera yet but the sound quality from the mp3 player is awesome.

    Chris,
Nice phone. Too bad that alot of really cool gadgets are only sold in Japan/Korea.

Update me on the reception you get when you switch to Cingular. I need a phone and am too thinking about getting a Samsung, the D807, I just don't know how the reception is with the Samsung phones. That phone is very sexy though, how much did you pay?

I have the D807, its really nice and really thin. The screen is also very very clear and bright. The reception is also pretty good with the 807.

the D900 is a 3mp phone, but the offerings from Sony ericsson and nokia are just as good, like the Nokia N93, and the SE K790i both three megapixel phones........

That looks a lot like the slider phone Verizon is advertizing on TV.

The office recently replaced the AT&T Nokia with a Cingular Samsung flip phone. The new one keeps interfering with any active audio circuit in the room: radio, television, even the speakerphone. But maybe that's the GSM net.

Well. I was taking some pics of someone today and honestly, this camera is a bit of a let down. ASSUMING i haven't fudged with the settings (i'll check), it takes ages to take a pic. You press the "shutter" button, it autofocuses (say 2-3secs), makes the shutter sound BUT you still can't move the phone for a few seconds and then the pic is taken. Half the shots were blurred because i assumed that when the shutter noise happens, the pic is taken. Silly me  Other than that, its great. I'm going to look to see if there are any camera settings i've changed.

Looks really nice. I can't tell how small it is because I'm not familiar with that other phone pictured. What are the dimensions?

    Here you go guys

So far, i've not been too impressed with the build quality but the phone itself is great. He's what i said on another forum

    _____________________________________________________________

I got mine yesterday and have already noticed the left slider is a little loose and there is about 1 millimetre of "give" in the slider bit. Its not much but enough for me to notice. I'm very picky and these things get to me. Other than that its fine.

    2 other little nitpicks

The paint in my green call button seems to be a little badly applied and you so when it lights up, its not solid green but you can see a texture and the right side is a little darker than the left. Also, in the "G" in SAMSUNG on the front, a little bit of the foil to make it seems to have come off. I assume my phone is real and not a fake, lol? You can't be too careful buying off ebay and having it shipped from Hong Kong :reallysad

That looks pretty thin actually. I have some Motorola flip phone and it bothers me at how thick it is when it's in my pocket.

When you say it's cheap feeling, what is it like? Thin, hollow, plastic? Did you buy it on your trip to England? If so, how would say the Ebay prices are. Thanks. :)

Yes, i was paraniod when i first got it. Whenever i had it in my pocked and got it out, i was so worried that if i dropped it, it would break. Hopefully i'll never find out...

I would give the build quality a 7/10. The slider feels a little "weak". I'm worried about breaking the phone whenever i take the battery cover off. On mine too (and not on others), the slider bit is a tiny bit loose and moves a bit (like 1mm) to the right when a little pressure is applied so not much but enough to notice. The MP3 player is AMAZING with the speaker on. The quality is great. The camera is still being tested.

I got it on ebay actually. I got it for $450 shipped ($50 priority shipping from Hong Kong) and that was $350 for the phone, $50 for a 1gb memory stick (about the size of my fingernail!) and a car charger. A pretty good deal if you ask me. It came in 2 days from HK! Check this out:
