yes I wonder who penned this truly exotic car? also I want point out this Bugatti was 100% Italian right? Made in modena by an Italian company that makes a lot of confussion about Bugatti's nacionality
The right to the name BUGATTI were bought from MESSIER HISPANO BUGATTI, a company owned by SNECMA, a state-owned French defense company, by a group of investors led by Romano Artioli, an importer and distributor of Japanese cars in Europe. They formed Bugatti International Holding that would eventually buy Lotus Cars. Bugatti Automobili was registered at Modena, with the factory at Campogalliano. The EB110 was engineerd by Paolo Stanzani (ex-Lamborghini) and Nicola Materazzi (ex-Ferrari & Lancia -288GTO, F40 & Stratos). The EB110 was originally designed by Marcello Gandini (Lamborghini Muira & Countach), but finished after his departure by architect Gianpaolo Benedetti - it was his first car. Does that answer your question?
Sure it does ! thanks but what's the deal with Gandini's signed cars? some cars are Gandini designed but signed by Bertone some others Gandini cars signed by Ital Design (not sure) and I think (correct me if wrong) Diablo has Marcello's sign (no company) I guess (not sure) he also drawn the Cizeta is that right? P.S. speaking of Bugatti who designed the Veyron?
Somebody who needs to go back to art school. No seriously. It is named after Pierre Veyron and was designed by Hartmut Warkuss of VW.
The origins of the design come from the still born Maserati Chubasco http://www.maserati-alfieri.co.uk/maser15.htm Also a Gandini design. Joe
Incorrect. Veyron exterior was designed by Jozef Kaban. Hartmut Warkus was Head of Design Volkswagen Group at the time and Jozef Kaban's boss.
Gandini used to be the Head of Design at Bertone. While he was at Bertone he designed cars such as the Miura, Stratos and Countach. The Diablo was designed by Gandini after he left Bertone, therefore the car has Gandini's own name on the car. Yes, Gandini also designed the Cizeta. None of Gandini's cars were signed by Ital Design. Ital Design is Giugiaro- who at one point in time also worked for Bertone as Head of Design.
Doesn`t matter who made it - the area around the headlamps are completly outdated today. The whole design looks too fat to me. The former prototype, created by Giugiaro, was far more Bugatti-like (even when I don`t like the Giugiaro-design of the last 10 years!). Ciao! Walter
speaking of designers .... who created the Pagani Zonda??? it reads Modena Design. but...? I think that must be the boldest most original design out there (I didn't say beautiful or pleasant but UNIQUE)
Well...I guess subjectively that is a matter of opinion! Since Giugaro made a number of Bugatti proposals I guess you are talking about the Bugatti Chiron? In this case, in terms of design quality, I personally would rate Kaban's design higher than Giugiaro's proposal. As far as I was told, Kaban's design was actually originally a proposal for the 'Bentley Hunaudieres'. But he lost the internal competition against Andreas Mindt (whose proposal was chosen). I was told that Piech supported Mindt's design, which became the 'Bentley Hunaudieres' while Warkuss prefered Kaban's proposal. Kaban's design later evolved into the Bugatti Veyron.
I once asked Horacio Pagani and apparently he did it himself. This was also reconfirmed to me by another source. Apparently Pagani himself also designed the facelift of the Countach 25th Anniversary Edition...
NoNoNoNooooo!!! Please not!!! No juke-box-design for guys with new teeth (as said in TOP GEAR!!) from Lamborghini, pleazzzzzzzzze!! Ciao! Walter
When you compare the CHIRON-version with the old Bugattis from the 30ies, you clearly see the much more related design-details the CHIRON has in common with the old cars. You are right - the VEYRON is a much VW-like, flat-hammered Bentley Hunaudieres'-version. Ciao! Walter
