I've washed my car a couple of times now since the Alice run - not a single stone chip thanks to the Ventureshield bra. Keeping a distance between the car in front helped too. After seeing how the cars with no bras looked up close, I reckon it is a cheap investment at $500.

I only got one chip and that was from a 4WD coming the other way that threw this huge rock at my bumper.
I was keeping back from other cars, so I didn't end up with any other chips at all.

The paint on my CSL looks brand new after 70,000km's. I have it on all my cars, including the race car.

Have you got a photo of the bra mhh, I think it would be a great idea if it wasnt very noticable.

You can see from this pic that they are noticeable where the clear bra stops.
It's a small price to pay to prevent damage. There are ones available now that can cover the whole bonnet and hence not show the end bit.

Wow, thats really hard to notice, DEFINATLEY worth it for a trip like that, and for daily driving of the car!, I wasnt sure looking thought the other photos if you had taken them off for the photoshoots or if they were that hard to notice!

Visibility is highly dependant on the colour of the paint. Light colours are fine, dark colours are not. Worst colours are black and yellow I was told. Good colours are silver and red.

Are you referring to the cut line being more visible on different colours
    or the film itself?

The cut line mostly. Apparently yellow is the worst colour as every spec of dust or slight air bubble sticks out.

Over time the film "yellows" with age. My CSL needs new film; but it isn't going to happen as car replacement time is due.

definitely not a 200+k BMW, and given the tear up factor with the CSL its best to put a cover over the car and use occasionally as one can never officially record a loss

I wish it did have a 3 year warranty! It is out of warranty in 18 months when I'll probably change it anyway.

I agree; but my wife will absolutely KILL me if I have yet another car sitting in the corner gathering dust. It would be smarter if she flicked her 10yr old SLK and we kept the CSL for her; but she is hell bent on keeping that OHOS until mankind runs out of fossil fuels.

F*ck off the CSL and get a 599 Scott. :) Or wait another year and pick one up 2nd hand and avoid the initial hit. :)

I am allergic to that sort of depreciation. The reason I went away from a 575 is I reckon there is still $150k tear-up over the next 3yrs. I am betting more like $50k over 3yrs in a 550. One hundred k is a lot to pay for an F1 shift and mild cosmetic changes.

    A 599 will lose 50% ($350k-ish) over 3yrs. Love a 599; but that is for the future.
