At the unveiling of the car I heard someone yell out "Thank you from Fchat Jim!!" Who was that because I thought it was very cool especially when Jim acknowledged it.

    That is absolutely mind-blowing...

I would love to see that one in person. Love the blue.

    Great photoshop, BTW.

Great work Michiel, but the blue color is more suited for a Bugatti, or at least a French car!
This colorscheme kind of reminds me of the Bugatti EB110 entry in Le Mans in the mid nineties.....the fastest car on the track until they retired because of problems with the turbochargers! :)

The American native racingcolours (N.A.R.T.) have allways been blue and white.
But I agree that blue suits a French car much better.
I'll post the same car in red with a different sponsor later. ;)

Who's driving your car in the barchetta.cc page header photo? That doesn't look like you, though that is certainly Mr. Pininfarina riding shotgun ... and also it looks like it's a white finish rather than primer ...

I believe American racing colors are white for the body with blue stripes. There's a country color chart somewhere on the web. You picture, while very nice, does make the car look French.

Paolo Garella head of Special Projects at Pininfarina, good friend and a great driver, ex Goodyear Tire Test Engineer. That was a special primer developed by Dupont for a special paint/porcess which makes carbon fiber look like aluminium.

That is excellent work, can you make it in red & without the stripes?

    Napolis,

Is you're PM box full, or are you just busy? No hurry. I don't mean to be bothersome, I know you are probably awash with other work.

    Cheers,
    James

    Guilty as charged. :)
I mean really, I think many of us would not have been in attendance that night had it not been for Jim's generosity; and this is something he definitely didn't have to do (open it up to us). Someone needs to let me know it was appreciated.

I definately appreciate it as well. Thank you Napolis for everything, and thank you Dan for having the guts to show your appreciation from all of us.

That was a very pleasant evening. The P4/5 event was well done, the car looked and sounded great (the exhaust note surprised me), and a good time was had by all.

I certainly appreciate being invited (along with my wife and a local buddy).

    Thanks, Jim!

Jim is the P4/5 sitting on Pilot Sport PS2 rubber, I cant see in any pics goodenough to tell. I am sure you dont have a prototype tire set do you... well since you plan on driving them, quite a bit. :p

    P.S. Nice pic Michael!!

    Ditto That!

DOT tires readily available and appropriately rated for P 4/5's capabilities.
(I think they are PS 2's)

Remote or not, it is important for Ferrari to consider going back to LeMans. It would be great to see them in the P1 category, where the technology is beginning to advance past that of F1. This would be a good way for the factory to step back in to endurance racing after a 30+ year absence - in GT1 with a historically referenced car. It would be a great homologation battle with the ACO as in years past as well ala 250/275 LM. Is it an Enzo or is it a Prototype?

    Michiel - Great illustration.
