So what is the best replica car out there.
The only three replicas that I would consider owning would be a GT40 then a Stratos and finally a AC Cobra and probably the ferrino..................NOT
Kirkham/cobras,Argentinian/Bugs,Lynx/jags,Classic concour/C-type Jag,Flaure?/GTO,and Dutch guy who does group4 daytonas.
There was a thread in the 360/430 section, with a 360 kit car that looked really good. But still was a kit car. Was based on an Audi chassis I think?? If it drove past, then it would probably trick ya, maybe. When you have a good look at it, you can tell its a fakey.............. Here you go. Was a Peugeot 406. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=117337
I havnt seen many good kit cars in Australia, i saw a site in America with lambo replicas and they looked good.
Easy for me, Delaney's Kirkham 427 Cobra is mega. I had a really close look at it when JA had it in the shop. I have seen a few real ones and I couldn't tell this car wasn't the real deal. I have yet to see a good Ferrari replica; but I haven't seen too many here in Oz.
So which replica gets your vote Robert? I would love to have that Kirkham in the garage for Sunny Sunday's
hard to say Rays car or Mike Hones alloy FIA 289 Cobra ex JB hi fi or one of Concours Jaguar C-TYPE alloy reps.Would you say McDermotts Daytona was a group 4 replica if so thats my true pick.
I haven't seen the 289 replica; but I have a thing for the big 427. I forgot to mention Peter Strauss's E-Type lightweight replica. Not my sort of car; but the quality was pretty impressive. Not much of a fan of the Fauvre GTO replica.
That was also a well executed car and boy did it sound absolutely fabulous. Another car lost to Australia
