Frank and I were at the Koenigsegg CCX unveiling tonight to see our second unveiling of the car. More to come later in the week... Also in the showroom was a particularly beautiful Ferrari F40! Last time I was in Vegas I went to that auto museum in Caesars. I can say that they didn't have that many exotics. Before they had more muscle cars, and a few Bentleys. Looks to be more newer exotics than when I went. Thanks for sharing the pics.
I'd say so. I can see what looks to be a bit of that yellow paint off to the left. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm glad you made it to the "2nd unveiling." Frank, I made a DVD for you of the CGT run and the CCX at HOP. Talking of F40s, I got to check out Tenny's perfect F40 at VCR and met Bruce Meyers. Image Unavailable, Please Login
A few from the track today... It was cool seeing the jets from the Air Force base flying over the track as well. The Thunderbirds even made a pass or two over us. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It was a great day. thanks Frank let me know if you got any pics on me at the track. I must say the car was not as fast as I expected to be!!! not 800 HP for sure.. must need some tuning or something.
hard to say, I would say pretty close to even. I am sure the car was detuned to go slower to lower the risk factor at the track. So a new one got to be faster.

If any other fat bas!ards are thinking of getting a CCX, the belts are at full extension around a 44 inch waste..er..waist. What a weekend. Meeting Justin Bell and spending so much time with him and Magnus Jaasund of Koenigsegg. Also all the gang from Exotic Cars at the Wynn. Just kidding. At Caesars Palace. Thanks for the hospitality. Seriously fun car. This was indeed the one from the Top Gear show and the one that made a surprise appearance in OC a few days ago. I am still smiling thinking of driving this supercar, albeit at half the rate Justin drove it. It was so easy to drive and although everything felt firm, the ride was actually quite good and the car never seemed upset by midcorner bumps or abrupt inputs. And did I mention it is very, very fast? Drew and I were musing that we could have gotten back to OC in one hour with the CCX. Assuming we could refuel on the fly. I think I'm going to get several more posts out of this on Autoblog. http://www.autoblog.com/bloggers/frank-filipponio/ Comments are appreciated. (I'm new and want them to think people actually read my stuff and look at my pics) And if any of you come across other pics that look like Drew's shot of the front of the CCX while it's on the track, know that I gave rides to a few other media guys today. I actually led a CCX around the track for 8 out of 9 laps, in my Mazda! Unfortunately I fell behind on the only one that counts in a race. And just a note to any of those other guys who hopped in for the tracking shots: You stiffed me on the gas and the back of my car has footprints EVERYWHERE! PayPal donations to [email protected] will help ensure the continued cooperation of the shuttle driver on future projects.
Thanks for distorting that pic of me. Very funny. Here's the original. Image Unavailable, Please Login
