Everybody claims they own a Skyline,lambo,ferrari,such when the realitly is they can barley make the payments on a Pacer.

 

I'm not going to argue that with you. I'm simply suggesting that if the man wants to know all that he can know about the Dauer 962 LMs that there is a user over there who works for Jochen Dauer and has all the answers and then some.

There are a few real deal folks over there but thats like 1 out of 100members. The treads over there are long and ridiculous.

 

Great... I'm not saying he needs to post there from now on and love every minute of it. I'm just suggesting a great resource for information in the same way that people get sent to me with questions on the McLaren F1.

I get that you don't like SC.net - personally I don't spend as much time there myself anymore for similar reasons, but droning on about it is a bit silly. The main website has always been a great resource and there are several participants in the forums who aren't complete idiots that make it worth it.

It's not like websites can really pick and choose who posts there. The forum suffers a little from lack of moderation, but they do ban the worst offenders fairly rapidly. I think it's pretty easy to wade through the BS over there and when you need something there are always people willing to help. That's been my experience.

Lol. Erik, its not worth it If he wants to go, then he can (and he should btw, ajzahn knows his stuff). If he doesn't, he needs to look elsewere (and harder).

 

These cars IIRC cost $1MM USD when new..............Dauer used to have a very good website, but it looks like it is down now.

There was an article on the Dauer 962 in Evo a few years back - great car by the sound of it - IIRC there were only a handful made - 6 I think. Can't remember which issue it was and my car mag archive is now so big that it lives in my parents attic (at the other end of the UK) as there is no where in my flat to keep it (well unless I throw the girlfriend and her bag/shoe collection out, but that would probably mean losing the 'boyfriend benefits' if you know what I mean). Perhaps someone else can help re. issue number.

Again IIRC there was one for sale in the last year or so in Germany (or possibly Belgium - certainly central Europe). Anyone got any more info on that?

Wow, I'd love to have that trio pictured in the first. 917, 911 GT1, and 962. Any chance you have shots of the rest? I'd love to see them.

 

The official Dauer site, www.962lm.com, seems to be down. Otherwise that site has everything you'd want to know about the car. I used to have the PDF download but I don't see it now.

I think if one were to buy a 962, it would have to be a racing motif paintjob...The plain red or black etc. looks cheap to me. I like the Shell version above.

These are a couple I've taken...Not dauers, but I just like 962s in general.
