Just for bragging rights. We should know results in couple weeks. My guess: Ferrari: MS & FM Renault: GF & HK McLaren: KR & FA Bonus question - "Contract length" MS - 2 years FM - 2 years KR - 1 Year HK - 2 years
Ferrari KR-FM Renault GF-HK McLaren FA-PDR Thank you for the memories Michael! You were, are and always will be the greatest racer of all time.
Nobody thinks Kimi could end up at Renault? IMO if MS stays at Ferrari for another year this is fairly likely as it is his best shot at a WDC in 2007.
I woud love to see Kimi go unconventional and out of the box and head to Sauber. BMW would pay and they tend to always deliver a competitive car within 3 years of any form of motorsport they get invovled in.
Mercedes will outbid Renault big time, only Ferrari can put an offer Kimi will consider. Currently Mercedes beats BMW hands down. I think only two real possibilities for KR future - Mercedes and Ferrari, if MS stay at Ferrari - Kimi will stay at McLaren
Maybe so, but do you really think Kimi would be willing to play second fiddle to FA at Mercedes? Signing FA so early Mercedes made it clear that he is their man and I personally can't see KR willing to be a second driver....especially when its obvious that the Renault is considerably faster than the Mercedes.
I think Kimi can wind up at Renault. I don;t think he'd want to be on the same team as MS and he would be willing to take less money to be the #1 driver on a team that can really compete for the WDC and has a reliable car.
I think wht this news point might quite well be the truth http://f1.racing-live.com/f1/en/headlines/news/detail/060830100406.shtml - Julio.
Ferrari MS-FM Renault FA-JF McLaren KR-PDR Alonso should try like crazy to get his seat back at Renault. IMHO McLaren will not be ready for the top next year.
KR and FA will get equal treatment in Mercedes. One of the selling point of Ron Dennis's offer is ability to beat FA on same equipment. After RB left Ferrari to Honda, i don't think we will see KR move from McLaren to Ferrari just to be new Massa\Rubens.
I totally agree with you about Kimi not moving to Ferrari w/ MS still in place which is why i do think its likely he will be w/ Renault. Either way I think he will only sign for a year and move onto Ferrari once MS retires. On a different topic....I heard a rumor Ferrari might have all three drivers, MS KR and FM, under contract for next season. Anybody have any thoughts on this? I sort of find it hard to believe that any of these three would be willing to take a year and be a tester but if it is true it putes Ferrari in great shape for the future, MS and KR in '07 and KR and FM long into the future.
F1Racing.Com reporting that Ferrari is going to announce 3 drivers for next year at Monza. http://f1.racing-live.com/f1/en/headlines/news/detail/060830100406.shtml
Question to all: Which would you rather do, be a teammate to Alonso at McLaren for three years in a car that has not done well in 2006 and has at times proven to be dangerous to your health, or be a teammate to Michael at Ferrari for one year in a winning car knowing that you will be #1 in 2008? Even if you had the option to stay at McLaren for one more year and then leave for Ferrari. Especially is you were given big $$$ to be on the Ferrari team. And especially after you saw that Ferrari allowed Felipe to win last week, even though they could have given it to Michael, because Ferrari wants the Constructor's Championship and they do not care which driver gives it to them. That scenario is a big incentive. I can't speak for anyone else, but if I were in Kimi's shoes, at his age, I would be thinking of the long term future and be dressed in red for the next 3-4 years. Ron Dennis was "forced" to hire Alonso, and Alonso was "forced" to sign with McLaren by Vodafone, McLaren's primary 2007 sponsor. What do you think that Kimi was thinking when he heard that Alonso would be his 2007 teammate? Or did Ron Dennis already know that Kimi would be leaving when he hired Alonso? Renault has already stated that Giancarlo F and probably Heikki K will be their 2007 line-up (they will not win any races with two drivers that have four syllable last names - :} ). Seems like Kimi's future has already been dealt.
Excellent Post! You have it dead right! Now do he same in reverse order for Michael Schumacher and Ferrari's best interests!
Schumacher will never drive alongside Kimi. Never. If Ferrari signs Kimi it means MS is retiring. Ferrari: KR/FM Renault: GF/HK McLaren: FA/PDR with a few races given to Hamilton and Gary
How about this theory: MS really wants to race beyond this season, and has made up his mind a long time ago. However, he cannot convince Ross Brawn to continue next year, and MS knows he needs his full team to be able to win.
So far we got this confirmed Renault: GF & HK anybody saw an announcement that mentions HK contract length? AND: Don't forget to post you predictions of Ferrari and McLaren line-up. No "I told you so." if it's not posted here
That's not a bad theory, I'd believe it. Hey kirill do I get an I told you so for Renault lol? At least i'm 2/6 so far.
LOL, it was an easy one. But you are eligible to order for any on-line printing services the official FerrariChat "'I told you so' Renault 2007" t-shirt.
